I like Feeling Good by Muse... not one that i'll be using but its different
Go for it! We are using "If I ever leave this world alive" by Flogging Molly.
My fiance and I have been thinking about what song we would like to use (even though are wedding is a while from now) but we like:
"You are the Best Thing" by Ray LaMontagne (we heard it on our first date)
"Home" by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
and we LOVE the 90s.... so we're trying to think of a 90s song that can top "You are the Best Thing" hahaha.
we are discussing having them start with "I'm Yours" my Jason Miraz ("our song"), then fading into "I Saw her standing there" by beatles and then fading into "When I'm Sixty-Four" by beatles. We are also planning on taking dance lessons and really surprising people when the second song begins :-) Also the beatles songs are relevant because our whole ceremony music list is beatles
we had make someone happy jimmy durante and then home edward sharpe and the magnetc zeroes for the wedding party to join in!! we hears that song 2 years ago and fell in love!

Are you an alternative bride? Will you and your FI be using music usually not considered "wedding appropriate" for you first dance? Please share them!
My fiance is a musician. He's been playing punk rock, metal, and hardcore for over fifteen years. The SoCal punk scene is a huge part of our life and relationship. A good percent of the guests at our wedding will also be musicians. Needless to say, music is going to be a very important part of our day.
That being said, we aren't fans of most top-40 music. We don't want to play music we hate all night. Of course we'll need to be respectful of the older guests (at least for the first part of the night), but when it comes to our "special dances", we want music that we connect to, and that means punk rock.
Our first dance will be to "Forever and a Day (Acoustic version)" by Death By Stereo.

Did you ever wonder, will I make it through this night? Did you ever wonder, will I live for sacrifice? Have you ever wondered, will I ever see the light? Have you ever wondered, can I live another life? Can I live another life?
I can’t take away this fever, I can’t take away the pain, But I will fight with you forever, forever and a day I can’t face this world on my own, I keep on searching for your face, I promise that we’ll live forever, forever and a day
And in your darkest hour, you bleed without a knife, Your searching losing power, your whole life has been a fight, You keep on giving selflessly, the world keeps on taking selfishly, You keep it bottled up inside, feel the sting, lets take another ride
I can’t take away this fever, I can’t take away the pain, But I will fight with you forever, forever and a day I can’t face this world on my own, I keep on searching for your face, I promise that we’ll live forever, forever and a day
And in your darkest hour, you bleed without a knife, Your searching losing power, your whole life has been a fight, As you walk out from the shadows, and the darkness fades away And you step into tomorrow
I can’t take away this fever, I can’t take away the pain, But I will fight with you forever, forever and a day I can’t face this world on my own, I keep on searching for your face, I promise that we’ll live forever, forever and a day Forever and a day, forever and a day, forever and a day, Forever and a day
Here are the lyrics, which are super meaningful to us. On another note, the guys in DBS happen to be pretty good friends of ours, so its even more special.
Okay, so what do you guys think? Who's next to share their offbeat first dance song?
