indeed, she is my partner in crime, but i don't want to put that in print. LOL
My MOH prefers Honor Attendant. I still use the acronym MOH here, but in real life I go with her preference.
My MOH's official title is Best Woman! I think that is used sometimes for when the groom has a female honor attendant, but I'm using it as "he gets a Best Man, I get a Best Woman." I was her Best Woman when she got married, as well!!
I have seen people use Best Gal, Best Woman, and Honor Attendant and I think all of them work fine.
i had a cousin use "women of distinction" instead of bridesmaids/MOH
lol. I call my MOH my "main b!%@#".... it's a term not for everyone, obviously. We both have a weird sense of humor.
I'm not doing the MOH thing - so all my ladies are honor attendants.
@zippylef - i call my girls my "entourage" and "b(*#W^ in waiting" lol we have weird senses of humor too :)
I like "Honor Attendant" best of all the previously given options. "Best Woman" is also sort of cute.
I like best lady or best woman. Just curious why dont you like Maid of Honor?
I like the term Honor Attendant too! Rather than Matron of Honor... but being a Maid of honor is just fine with me... with the understanding that it's the shortened form of Maiden...
@vistagirl - I guess the term "Maid of Honor" is generic & traditional, and just doesn't suit her personality. I am not having bridesmaids either because I'm just not into the whole bridesmaids-y entourage thing, but I am told that I need to have a "witness" so that's why I chose her. I was a bridesmaid 3 times, and that was fun when I was 25. I'm 40 now and getting married for the first time, and it just doesn't seem necessary at this point. I just want my close friends to come and have a good time, and not have to fuss with the formality of a bridal party. My FI is also not having groomsmen, just a Best Man.
Thank you Bees for your input. I will probably use "Best Woman".
One of my friends used the term "Head Bridesmaid" because she didn't like the term Maid of Honor.

Hi Bees,
I really am not comfortable with the term "Maid of Honor" and I'm struggling to coin a word or phrase that I like better. I am thinking of using "Best Girl" in the wedding programs, keeping in line with "Best Man", but my MOH is my age (40), and "Girl" doesn't seem to sit well with me either.
Anyone else refer to their MOH by another name? Suggestions welcome!
