- Wedding: November 2013
This is my first time posting but judging from some of the advice I’ve seen others receive, I’m hoping you all can help me out, too!!
I’m getting married November 2 in VA and had been expecting to just use the seamstress at the bridal shop that I bought my dress from. But I just found out two weeks ago that I’m moving to CO in mid-September. If I schedule my first fitting (that’s when they figure out the initial alterations, right?) as soon as I get to CO — which might not be until the last weekend of September — will I be okay on time?
If not, any suggestions? The bridal shop I’d been planning to go with charges one flat-rate for all the alterations, so I can’t do my initial fitting with them and then have someone in CO do the rest… And I can’t afford to fly back to VA for fittings before the wedding.
I know I’m going to need my dress shortened a few inches (none of the detail starts lower than where I’d need it shortened to), and the zipper is about an inch-half inch shy of zipping up in the back. The rest seemed pretty good, so I don’t think it’s going to be any major reworkings.
