I would love to find an alternative to Bridesmaid Bouquets for my Christmas wedding. I am having a fabric and lace bouquet made for myself. I am unsure if floral would look right for my bridesmaids...Also, my budget is tight at this point. I really would like something that is not terribly expensive.

I didnt' realize when I picked 7 bridesmaid that this also equalled 7 pricey bouquets lol...any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

I concur with @mc77's idea with the mistletoe.  Are you using traditional Christmas colors?

I think there are DIY instructions on Offbeatbride.com for the ornament bouquets. I KNOW you could definitely figure it out if you didn't find instructions!

I hadn't seen any mistletoe bouquets when I first suggested that I just liked the idea being that mistletoe is supposed to involve kissing and all that :) Just found a picture though and it looks kinda neat!

The ornament bouquet is a cute idea! It should be inexpensive to DIY.

I'm with the camp that supports the mistletoe, with maybe some white and red poinsettas, and they make some very nice ornamental glass marble grapevine that would mix in well.  I'm all for natural flowers though.  Good luck!

You can also consider just using LESS flowers. A single large bloom, or 2-3 smaller blooms (like 3 calla lilies, tied with a bow, nothing else) for each girl.

As you realise it doesn't have to be a bouquet, realise you can still use flowers and not bouquets too. :)

I'm also having a winter wedding and I'm using lanterns instead of bouquets for my bridesmaids.  I got them at Ikea for $5 each.

Michael's sells tiny fake bouquets.  I got a bunch for $3.  My girls are carrying those.  They look real enough :)

I def. would not do a fake bouquet for yourself and real for your maids. I think that would not look right! All of the ideas above are a lot of fun, esp. the ornaments!

I was going to do a Christmas theme and I was going to do the muffs with poinsettas pinned to the front of them.  Have your bridesmaids do the traditional red ones and have your MOH have a pink one. and you can do white with silver glitter. My mom and I DIYd 1 and they were so amazing. But we had to move to summer due to the mandatory overtime in winter. Boo!

I make cotton bouquets. They are a little different than regular flower bouquets.

Here is my website so you can see all of them

Don't know your colors, but what about DIY poinsettia bouquets? They come in white in addition to red, so you could do red or red/white for the BMs, and then red/white or all white for you. And the flowers are pretty big, so you wouldn't need to buy many plants to make seven of them. Here's an example:

Thanks for all the ideas :)  I am really considering the laterns.

My colors are black and silver with pink accents. My bouquet is light pink and from ETSY--its fabric flowers with feathers and ribbons and antique broaches...so unfort poinsettias won't really work.

If I had it to do over, then I would totally go with Christmas colors because it would have been cheaper and more convenient...but the bridesmaids dresses are all ordered now, so black, silver and pink it is :)

    @Mississippigal21:

I think the ornament bouquets are really fun. Perhaps incorporate some of the same mediums (like the feahters) that are in your bouquet to make it all cohesive. Best of luck to you!  Smile
