As some of you might have seen from what I have previously posted, my current plan for our flowers is to purchase them wholesale and do them myself.
I have not yet done an official test run (I plan to do this in the next month or so) but one thing I do know is this- the less projects I have that require fresh flowers, the better.
So after much thought, I decided that it would probably be best to skip fresh flowers for the guys and for the mothers corsages.
I already know what my plan is for the mothers- I’m going to make silk flowers (I already have tons of silk dupioni fabric) so they will have handmade silk flower brooches that they can keep for after the wedding.
For the guys, I’m still trying to come up with ideas, but it will probably also be some kind of fabric flower.
This style is tempting, especially since I already have that exact same fabric in my stash.
Did anybody else forgo fresh flowers for the men or the moms?

Mom’s and grandparents requested to not have any flowers or anything.
I am making my bouts with peacock feathers and these twigs with white berries on them.. The stem is wrapped in ribbon.

@julies1949: OOoh… I really like the blue and yellow ones you posted.
I will admit that part of my problem is that there are so many ideas out there I have trouble picking one!
For the mothers it will be a little easier, because I know what style I want to do and I have made them before, so that was a no-brainer.
But with the guys, I don’t want to use the same style of fabric flower.
I can already tell this is going to be a fun project 🙂

I saved this pic in a file because I love it so much.
I think these would be great for the guys and they can be both individualized and done in your colors.
