I love my rings, but I've only been wearing them for 3 weeks now and the rhodium finish is already being rubbed off the top of my wedding band by the engagement ring.  I took it to a chain jewelry store and the girl said I'd either have to solder them together or wear them on seperate fingers to keep it from happening.

I work with my hands a lot, and have worn only my wedding ring to work many days already.  I also take off the engagement ring when I shower, cook and do dishes or any rough cleaning.  I firmly believe your wedding ring should not come off unless it's a damn good reason and not on a regular basis.  On top of that, the rings look absolutely gorgeous together, and my band is slightly curved to fit the shape of the engagement ring so I wouldn't want to wear them apart always.  Not sure what alternatives there are to soldering or wearing apart, but neither really fit the bill for me.  Has anyone found a way to get around this problem??

Maybe talk to a jeweler about getting a thin spacer in between them?  If it's made to fit both rings, it should solve the problem of them wearing each other out.

Yes, where can we find these? I love the idea of mixing and matching, and not always having to wear them together. The thing is, the wedding ring I'm looking at is floral and kind of jagged- can most jewelers make a custom spacer? And what are they made out of? (hopefully something see through and squishy.)

Talk to your local jeweler (preferably a non-chain stores, the small local stores know their jewelry more), and they should be able to design one for you!
