I recently purchased my wedding dress and tried it on for the first time. Wanted to gather some thoughts about it as I went to the fitting alone.
I am having the top raised so it is not as low cut. I have also purchased a sash to add a little bling. The dress is currently too big and will go through alterations.
Please keep in mind I only have photos that I took of myself in the dress.
Any feedback as to fun accessories to add or thoughts on the dress would be greatly appreciated.

That dress is pretty and it looks like you have lots of options for accessories. Maybe a nice belt around the waist to add some bling.

Thank you. I am going through the dress selection process alone so appreciate any unbiased feedback as to if you like the dress and the way it fits my body type.

@kristen3333: I went alone too, knowing my FMIL would have plenty of opinions like, ‘You’re not going to wear white are you?’. I’m glad I did….
You look stunning in it and I think it’s a beautiful canvas for you to accessorize to your liking

Your post means the world to me. The only person I would have taken with me to all appointments passed away a few years ago. I truly trust my decision but fear my good friends will only share what I want to hear and I just want to know I’m receiving their full honesty.
That’s part of why I posted this…to get a sense from people I don’t know if they like the dress I chose.
Thank you again!

@kristen3333: I’m an Alvina bride, too! 🙂 (9051) And I also went dress shopping alone (mom passed away).
My dress has a sweetheart neckline and I’m accessorizing with a simple pearl necklace.

Oooh, very pretty! It looks a lot like my dress except satin/silk instead of lace on the top. You definitely have an open canvas to accessorize. I love the idea of a blingy sash. How about some big, sparkly, statement earrings too? Are you wearing a veil? A cathedral veil would look stunning. I’m so excited for you! I want to see more pics!

Thank you. That means a lot. I have bought a finger tip veil.
Love those ideas for accessories. Do you like this belt attached?

It’s beautiful! I agree with adding a belt, and maybe some statement earrings, and not much else (other than maybe a veil)

I already know it’s going to be perfect! Alvina Valenta has beautiful dresses…and yours clearly is gorgeous! Moly bridesmaids dresses are the same brand. There’s just something about the way that their dresses are made that I love. The sweetheart top & the cups are just perfect. And your body looks fabulous in that dress. I do like that belt too. My opinion as far as accessories go would be to do either a belt with big earrings or no belt with a big necklace. I personally don’t care for the look of everything together. . .but that’s just my personal opinion.

Wow! All of your comments mean a lot and I greatly appreciate them!
After reading through all I may do some blingy earrings, bracelet, sash and possible a hair comb with some bling. No necklace.
Makes me even more excited for the big day! Thank you all.

I had my eye on this very dress before I ended up with my Jim Hjelm dress. Seeing your pictures is making me kick myself for not trying it on. You look great. I love how clean and streamlined it is and then romantic and playful at the bottom!

Aww thank you!
The one thing I’ve realized through this whole dress process is that there are always beautiful dresses out there. I watch “Say Yes To The Dress” way too much to the point I second guess my decision every other day. It’s tough to pick just one dress to wear on your wedding day and to meet the pressure of it being the absolute best dress you can find.
I’m sure your Jim Hjelm dress is absolutely amazing!
