Don't make the mistake I did and wear a thong. I was wearing a thong because I had on a sundress but didn't bring a spare pair to cover my arse while the consultant helped me out. I was MORTIFIED!
I wore some colorful boy short style undies. They covered my butt nicely, which was all I was worried about!
I wore my fav. bra and brought a strapless one to try on with the dresses!
Something neutral/skin colored with smooth edges, and isn't a thong. I wore a nude-colored strapless bra to my first appointment but I ended up taking it off to try on dresses. The ladies who work in bridal shops see thongs and boobs all day though, so don't be too nervous or embarassed!
Wear the panty line free underwear =) the ones that look like boy shorts and I'f you think you'll be more comfy with the nip covers as well go for it =)
definitely wear nude colored boy shorts...other people will be seeing your underwear! and some colors can show through the dresses.

Most shops will put you in a long line bra - so I would wear comfortable panties that cover your butt and a strapless bra (just in case.) I wouldn't worry about nipple covers. The ladies who work there aren't trying to look!
The shops I went to didn't put me in a bra, so I'd say to wear a strapless bra and nude underwear.
I wore a strapless bra and thongs. During one of my fittings I had to change my bra with one of the shop ladies in my dressing room. I really didn't feel uncomfortable with the shop lady there, it's not like they care what you look like, and what do I care if some random shop lady knows what I look like.

This is probably a weird/stupid question, but I'm going to shop for wedding dresses for the first time tomorrow and I'm wondering what you ladies suggest wearing as far as undergarments are concerned? I just don't want wearing the wrong type of undergarment to affect my perception of the dresses I try on. I was actually considering wearing nipple covers under my bra so if I decide to take the bra off it won't be totally awkward if someone is in the dressing room helping me get in and out of the gowns, but I wanted some input from more experienced dress shoppers. TIA!
