My cats would shred me to bits if I ever tried anything so foolish.

My husband refuses to let me dress up our cats, and our cats now have figured out the magic of making their collars disappear, so I can’t even do that! Stinkers!!! However, Mr. D won’t have much of a say when I’m making us do family costumes when our son comes!!! I’m so excited for next halloween!

Sadly I don’t have any pictures, but my mom’s Hotdogs loved to get dressed up. Lets see we had them dressed up as a Hippybus, a ghost, a devil, a shark, a hotdog (Sealed), the devil, and cookie monster.

They also wear festive t-shirts and sweatervest get up: christmas trees, naughty list, i attacked santa, and i stole the cookies. Dizzy even has a polo he would wear.

@nibbler:  We always do a costumed photo shoot for the adoptable dogs in the shelter around Halloween – people donate old costumes and it’s always a riot, we’ve had a jockey on horseback, a squirrel, a lobster, a bumblebee…although ironically, the picture that got the most “likes”/shares on FB was this big goofy American Bulldog mix wearing a kid-sized elasticized necktie.  This year my friend and I had grand plans to put a many-times-over mama dog who was a bit, umm, saggy into a “naughty nurse” costume but fortunately she got adopted before we could have our laugh at her expense 😛

I dressed my dog up as a KISS fan doggie trick-or-treating two years ago (since he’s already got the black eye patch) – I made him a black cut-off t-shirt with the logo painted on in silver, covered his collar in shiny silver duct tape, put black & white checkered wristbands on his front paws, and draped him in chain ‘necklaces’.  Last year he was a “Ruff-eree” in a jersey from Target and I wore my flag football jersey and eye black 🙂

Edited – here’s a pic:

My DH won’t let me get costumes for the pups. But they would look sooooo cute! 🙁

That’s Riley, my chiweenie in his Halloween costume! I put him in that for a few years in a row. Ignore the woman holding him, that’s my ex wife! I can’t find a picture of me holding him!

I’ll only go as far as a tie or cute scarf on my dogs.  Well, one time I put a sweatshirt on one of my great danes because it was really cold at the rugby game we were watching.  Other than that, any sort of hooplah or shenanigans are highly frowned upon and most often result in copious amounts of costume-confetti all over the house.
