It depends on what “limited rights” the contract calls for.  If in doubt, I’d ask the photographer for permission.  S/he may well be willing to give it, if the photographs are properly credited.

Probably not, typically your rights are private usage rights and reproduction rights……but you can ask your photographer to submit them on your behalf so they get proper credit and also any compensation.

I think you can you just need to send the photographers email address along with it so he/she can ok it.  Or you can email the photographer first and get permission, as long as they are credited, I am sure they would be thrilled to have their photos up on a popular web site like that.

Your best bet is to speak with your photographer before submitting your wedding.  If you haven’t read up on the submissions process yet, it is kind of time consuming (they ask for 150-200 photos).  My understanding is that after they pick weddings, they check with the photographers that it is ok to use the images. You would hate to do all of the work putting together an application, and then have your photographer say no.

i asked my photographer this and her response was “SURE!”  – in my contract though i got all the rights to the pics and i emailed her to ask exactly what that meant. i think she liked the idea of me submitting her work because she already submits it everywhere, so why not get more coverage/publicity.
