Personally if I were in your shoes I would. But if you're having doubts about it I'd just double check with the bride. I plan on wearing the shoes I wore to my wedding to a friends wedding in Sept as they go well with the dress I plan to wear but they weren't white or ivory.
As long as you don't wear a white dress you are fine. No one should really be worried about you competeing with the bride based on your shoes.
I think it's totally fine. I couldn't tell you what shoes people wore on our wedding day :) I think people only get iffy about others wearing white clothes/dresses to weddings.
I think you will be fine! No one will think that your white shoes makes you a bride :)
