That was one regret I had about our venue.  They didn’t have a big enough toilet for my dress and I had to pee with the door open whilst my friend was holding the dress over my head, and because there were only two toilets, it meant I had quite the audience… not really the look I was going for… lol

Unless your guests have a habit of drinking until they puke a lot, you should be ok. Is there an easy way to get outside should the worst happen?

@nushka:  In honesty looking back? I don’t think I would have.  The venue was NOT what we envisioned, but after the first visit I kind of started loving the whole “kitsh-ness” of our venue.  The toilets would not have changed my mind, even if I had thought of looking at them.  Things I would have done different is not wait so long before going to the toilet – I went in peak-rush hour, and maybe asking that they put a toilet attendant to ensure enough toilet roll and that they remained clean and tidy.

Our venue only has like two bathrooms which are a bit away from our actual reception space. To be honest this is something I just can’t be bothered with either way. Oops. I think you should be golden, your guests are adult after all. That’s what I’m hoping for! 🙂

Do you mean two actual toilets or two bathrooms with multiple toilets. I’d be very concerned if there are only two toilets.

Ever watch Peep Show?  It’s a BBC show that you can find on Netflix.  It’s about two guys who live together.  In one episode they throw a party and Jeremy sets up puke stations throughout the house so that one is always within reach.  Maybe making a big trashcan or two available will encourage guests to puke in the trashcan instead of the toilet?  I find that most people end up puking at the hotel or on the way to the car so I wouldn’t spend a lot of time worrying about someone puking where it will cause a problem.

I’d look for another venue. Even without someone hogging the bathroom or making a mess, 2 bathrooms for 100+ people isn’t enough when they’re in jeans and t-shirts. In dress clothes, they’ll each need a few more minutes to visit the bathroom. And everyone goes at once, right after dinner. You don’t want to go to all this trouble and have the bathroom line be the first thing anyone remembers about the day.

We had 1 bathroom for about 100 guests, and it wasn’t an issue at all. I don’t think this is worth the energy you’re putting into worrying. 🙂

Are you locked in to this venue?  Honestly it would be a deal-breaker for me. I have a crowd of big drinkers too but even if they weren’t that is a LOT of people for 2 bathrooms.

It would upset me that my guests (and myself for that matter) would have to miss 15 minutes of the reception waiting in line for the bathroom each time they went, because this is what is going to happen.
