Nobody has to know how much you paid! Your friends love you for you, not for the gifts you buy them. Those sound like great things that they'll love - I bet they never even question how much you spent. Great shopping! :)
I don't think you're being "cheap"! Think of it as "getting the most BANG for your buck". What you're giving them sounds amazing and I think the amazing price makes it that much more awesome. I can't imagine how anyone could not love those gifts. Personally I think I'd be shocked that you were able to find such a good deal (not to say that you're lacking Sale Finding skillz - I just never get that lucky
).
I think those are great gifts -- plus you're paying for their hair. Don't worry about it!
I am totally shocked I found such great deals! The tote bags were org $40! They were 90% off at the B&B outlet here in my town. I really hope they like eveything!
WOW! i can't believe you got those tote bags for sooo cheap! i'm thinking you and i got the same ones 'cept i paid $10 for each around the holidays.
BUT ANYWAYS... you are NOT being cheap!!! if i were your BM i'd absolutely LOVE those things. and i'm very sure that your BMs will love them just as much! I'm also going the cheaper route and finding little things for my BMs as gifts. I'm putting my own touch to the gifts by writing each of them little notes on really cute post-it notes on each item... I'm a post-it note freak and seem to have a lot of time on my hands!
I'm all about finding great deals and am trying to do the same for my bridesmaids ($4 giant straw totes on drleonards.com (VERY random website) is my favorite deal so far, but I also got some cute makeup bags at B&BW for $2, and flip flops in different colors from old navy for $2).
I think that personalization goes a long way - make it "them" somehow, and that doesn't necessarily have to cost a lot. Add their favorite candy, or scent of lotion, or a CD of songs that bring back memories of times you've shared...
There's nothing wrong with being a smart shopper! You could easily have paid $100+ for those gifts, but why would you if you can find them for a better deal? I'm sure your maids are going to love your thoughtful gifts!
And if I may ask, where'd you find such a good deal on the robes? And did they have other colors? :)
I found the robes at Charolette Russe. They did have other colors. Light pink, white, red (I think), and maybe a few others. They are short robes with a hood. I got the hot pink for the girls and a white one for myself. I orginally bought them for $15 each then they went down to $10. So i went in and did a price adjustment. I love great deals! Also, when I was shopping at B&B they had their robes marked down to $10 too. But this was also at the Tanger outlet mall. They were long robes and they only had a few colors like burgandy and grey. But they were also very nice robes.
Thanks for the tip! I'm looking for robes for my girls too, and planning to use my mother's monogramming machine to put the girls' initials on them. I'll check out the places you mentioned! :)
I love a good deal, and you've found some great ones! I don't think you're being cheap. Weddings are expensive and it sounds like you are putting together nice gifts that just happen to be budget friendly. Nice job!
You're not being cheap, you're just budget conscious. I got most of my girls gifts from ebay and online deals. I got each girl a different cosmetic bag according to what they liked and their personality, a cosmetic mirror, a burgundy gemstone bracelet and lots of mary kay goodies and things to fill it with. They loved them all and I didn't spend a ton on them. For the guys we got wedding party cufflinks that I found on sale for $5 that were originally $45. We also got them personalized drinking mason jugs for $8, they loved them since it reminded them of their younger days of drinking from jugs, lol. Just personalize them for your girls and they will love whatever you give them.
Here's pics of some of the things we got them: http://angee524.blogspot.com/
I don't think you are being too cheap at all. My girls were suprised to get anything, they love you and are just happy to share in your day.
I was actually just thinking about this myself while browsing through the bridesmaid gift wiki. I have only been a bridesmaid once and received matching necklace and earrings and a small evening bag for wedding day. I didn't expect anything, and I was just so happy to receive something so thoughtful.
I wasn't planning on going crazy with bridal party gifts, but now I'm feeling like I need to spend/give more.
Are you kidding?! I think that's an AWESOME gift!! I agree, no one has to know how much you spent! Plus, if you pay for them to get their hair done, I think that's huge. I'm hoping to luck out like you did and find some steals...I have 8 bridesmaids!
Those sound like great gifts! They'll be happy just being there on your special day; gifts aren't important much. Besides, you're paying for their hair appts, which doesn't come cheap.

I have been so lucky when looking for gifts for my bridesmaids! I have found some amazing deals so far! I found them each hot pink bath robes for $10 each, huge tote bags on clearance at Bath and Body Works for $4 each and gel eye masks for $2 from B&b also. I was also planning on paying for their hair to get done too. My question is, am i being cheap? Is that enough of a gift? I have just been so lucky to find such cute things for such great deals!
