Did any of you (or do you plan to) mail yourself an invite addressed to "The Bride and Groom" ? My fi thinks I;m crazy and what a waste of the invite and money on a stamp, I think it’s nice to as a keepsake that it is post marked.

It’s actually a really good idea to send yourself an invitation BEFORE sending them to everyone else. This way you can see how they hold up in the mail, how acceptable the postmark is if you don’t hand-cancel them, and so on. I sent my self an invite, but forgot to do it before sending them to everyone else, and discoved that a ‘large envelope’ comes with a HUGE postmark unless hand-cancelled. Whoops!

haha, cute! I just stuck one to my fridge =]

I’m planning on sending one to myself and maybe my mom before I send the rest out to make sure it makes it, how long it takes etc. I don’t think it’s a crazy idea at all!

We definitely mailed one to ourselves … it was partly a test to make sure they were getting through the post office, and partly to have the fun of opening it together!

i sent my parents one as a test. i don’t really care for the postmark or what not so i’m just keeping one of our extras.

I wish I did :(. Now I don’t have an envelope keepsake. I really loved the calligraphy, so now I need to see if I can get one from a relative or something.

I think that’s a cute idea~I’ll definitely be doing it just so that we can open it up together!

That is too cute… and useful! Will do!

ha ha…umm no…I have however just KEPT one for myself and mom…

i kept one but when i even mentioned mailing to fi he definitely thought it was ridiculous. i felt no need to really get it in the mail–except of course once we mailed them i paniced for two days until someone told me that they actually received it! ha.

Hmm, I’m not sure whether I will or not. I honestly hadn’t thought about it. My FFIL works for the post office, so he’ll know whether we should ask for hand canceling or not. But it would be neat for our scrapbook to have one with "Bride and Groom" written on it. 🙂
