- Wedding: October 2014 - Vegas baby!
Ok sooo, my honey and I have been talking about getting engaged for a long time. We’ve been together (as adults) for 3 years. – We dated as teenagers too. –
We haven’t gotten engaged yet because we have 2 little ones and money is tight with both of us in school etc. etc. etc. He also has been planning the proposal for a while and wants to make sure it’s perfect 🙂 Love him. He keeps a file on his computer of all the rings I like…this is where I start to worry if I am crazy.
We both decided that moissanite was what we wanted, for tons of reasons. Every other week or so, I go on Moissaniteco.com and browse the rings. I have decided that I would definitely prefer a 1.5ct equivalent (7.5mm) round brilliant/forever brilliant set in paladium…I will see one I like and email it to him…then find another one and email it to him…so on and so forth. I have told him “THIS IS IT! THIS IS THE RING OF MY DREAMS!” like 5 times now. Every few weeks I find something I like better and change my mind. This past time it was a beautiful bezel solitaire…however, I just saw a new ring on the site and fell in LOVE with it even more than the bezel and I am afraid to send it to him cause I think he is going to think I am CAAARAAAAAAAZY!! lol. Am I crazy!? Did any of you change your minds a million times? We’ve looked in stores a few times, but nothing ever sparked my interest. AH I’m just worried I’m gonna drive him nuts :/ Thanks for letting me rant about my indecisive self 🙂

I’m extremely indecisive when it comes to what I want. First I wanted a diamond, then an Asha, now I’m back to wanting a diamond. I think I’ve probably sent SO like 30 rings I want by now. You are by no means crazy and you aren’t alone 🙂

You’ll always find a ring you’d love to have. Stop looking! haha
I actually knew exactly what I wanted from the start. Which is unusual for me, because in general I’m a very indecisive person. Hell, it took forever for me to decide between several pairs $15 sunglasses!! But for my ring, I just knew.

I picked out some rings I liked online, then we went and looked at them and to see if there were other rings FI liked more, that I liked. When had no intention of buying the ring while out browsing, but it was the perfect ring, a prefect compromise of his preferred more tradtional and my preferred non-traditionsl, and it was on sale, and also happened to be the last one. So FI bought it.

@Someday_Mrs_Maguire: Yup, I’ve done the same thing several times.
It’s gotten to the point where he isn’t buying/ordering anything without me present hahaha. That’s fine by me… I never wanted a surprise proposal or anything like that.

I couldn’t choose either! I loved twisted bands then this than that, but then I went to a store and tried on a halo, which I never really thought of and LOVED how it looked on me. Mine is being shipped as we speak and I can’t wait to get it!! Maybe try looking at different places. rings look different on your finger IMO.

I went through exactly the same thing, right down to the ring specs for moissanite and e-mailing him tonnes of links claiming every single one was The One. To be honest, I never truly decided. I forced myself to pick one and stick with it. I still lust after other rings, but since getting my engagement ring, it’s become MY engagement ring and that is what makes me love it more than all the others. Buuut, no one says I can’t have a nice halo for a right hand ring some day…
I suggest you tell him that you’re giving yourself such-and-such time to decide amongst all the ones you have narrowed down, and then maybe tell him you’ll give him a shortlist of, say, three that he can choose from? That way your decision is eased somewhat, you will still end up with something you like AND it will be a surprise(ish)!
