@thenextmrsi:  Sorry but yes I think that’s crazy and not really normal.  I’m pregnant and want to register but won’t until we find out the gender.

@thenextmrsi:  Heehee, welllllllll…..I wouldn’t tell people in real life that you have set one up!  But, I can totally see how people with baby fever or who love baby stuff would want to. 🙂

Are you on Pinterest?  You could always start up a “Baby Board” on there to pin all your ideas?  You could title it something like “Someday Baby” so people don’t automatically think you’re pregnant.

@thenextmrsi:  I agree with PP that maybe a secret pinterest board is a better alternative. That way there’s no risk of anyone ever finding it.

@thenextmrsi:  DH started our registry the day we found out we were pregnant!

I don’t see how it’s any different from sneaking in a little wedding planning before you’re engaged!

@thenextmrsi:  I would say it’s a tad bit on the crazy side…. research is fine but I wouldn’t go so far as to register. You have no idea yet what your TTC journey is going to be like and I feel like it’s best to wait to actually DO stuff to avoid it becoming a sore spot if things don’t go smoothly. Also, things change so much with baby things and your planning may change a lot by then. Surfing the web and indulging in lots of oooh’s and ahhh’s is perfectly normal. I myself have a bit of baby fever. But I think making multiple registries is taking it too far.

I have a couple of items on a private amazon wishlist, and we probably won’t TTC until closer til the end of 2014. They are just fun things that I didn’t want to forget about, so I chose to keep them stored somewhere!

I definitely wouldn’t go as far creating a real registry. You never know what will happen when you are TTC, and I think a registry full of baby stuff might haunt you if, god forbid, things don’t go smoothly.

@MrsWBS:  I just started a secret pinterest board & labeled it “Kids gifts”… My family is very nosey so if something was ot happen & my baby board pins showed up in their feed I’d never hear the end of it! The other big plus is that I can also pin research, articles, etc. not just items

I don’t think it’s crazy at all 🙂

Then again, I was purchasing cloth diapers well over a year before we even got pregnant. haha.

I have a Pintrest board, and what is great is that a lot of websites allow you to Pin the item you find to Pintrest without creating a registry. I wouldn’t register, but a lot of websites do have a wish list, which is where you could place items rather than make a registry.
