It is your wedding and the most important thing is that you feel beautiful and YOU love your outfit. That being said.... I don't love it. But hey.. that's just me. :)
If you're going to wear 'em, I would say definetly go with with long gloves, not short ones...I think if it's done right, they can be super-chic and very vintage-esque...How are you thinking of doing your hair and what type of veil are you wearing? These types of things will affect the overall look...
I agree with runrgurl10 - you should do long gloves for sure. I happen to LOVE the look and think it would be classic with your dress. I say if you like the look, then go for it!
I LOVE it. And you know what? Vogue is showing exactly that look these days. If you do it, other brides will soon be following suit. Go for it!
coughing i adore gloves as well i think they are so posh and sophisticated and just luxurious... I think the pictures that you posted are sexy couture sophisticated and vintage...
Don't forget to cut a slit in the finger so you can put your wedding ring on!
I think they would look very glamorous with your gown! If you don't want to wear them, maybe just for a few pictures?
I loooove gloves with wedding dresses! You would totally work it. If I had arms like yours, I would be glove-shopping, too. :)
I agree... you have incredible guns :)
I think it you will pull it off beautifully!!
Oh I can totally see that dress with some really chic long gloves and a birdcage veil.
Sure, why not, if you love it! I don't have strong feelings toward it but they don't look bad.
I love gloves, always have, always will. They'll look great with your dress!
I am planning on wearing gloves! ^_^ Though in my case it's an the hopes that it will up the formality since I'm going with a short dress.
I think gloves would look very class with your gown, especially if you're going to be having a relatively formal wedding.
You seem to really love the idea, and that's what matters - I wouldn't wear short gloves though, I'd go with long ones.
Unaltered and unpressed though it may be, you have a beautiful dress!
i could never do it because i know i'd probably mess them up somehow; i.e. get makeup on them, somehow tear them or snag them on something and some other random fiasco, but with your outfit...YES! Long gloves would be tres chic! =D
Awww thanks for all the input and compliments ladies! :)
I would definitely go with long gloves since my dress is strapless. I really like the look on the Melissa Sweet ad for her Mila dress (4th pic down)... long gloves, long flowy hair. I don't yet have a veil, but I was thinking birdcage.
I showed FI some of these pics and he was like "Hmm, I never thought of you wearing gloves, but you would look great in some. Wear them if it makes you happy." awwww, love him!! :)
gloves would look so great - and yes, long gloves are the best idea! And very cool that FI supports you in this!
I'm generally anti-gloves, because I don't see a lot of brides really "pull it off" but with your dress, and the right attitude, I definitely think gloves would work great!
If you love them, you should wear them. The long gloves definitely go with your dress. I've always been confused about how you get the ring on with the glove on, but I guess it works somehow. Do you just have to wiggle your finger out of a slit in the glove and then just have one finger hanging?
Im thinking of wearing gloves myself!!! I vote for gloves!! and I think your dress will great with them too!! cant wait to see your final look!!
I love the gloves. I think you should do what you want. Not everyone wears these so it's different and unique. I like it.
It will look great - just be very careful not to touch anything (like your face) otherwise the gloves will get dirty.
I think if you wear a veil with it then you would look lovely. I also love the glove idea and will probably be wearing long ones also. I'm swaying more toward the fingerless gloves(not sure what they're called but saw them @ DB) so that I won't have to cut a slit in them to put on my ring
I like the idea but I think the short gloves are more chic personally!
I am not a glove fan but I think they would look nice with your dress. I vote for long gloves.
I think your dress would look great with a pair of long satin gloves! : ) Go for the elbow-length, girl!
Not usually a fan of gloves, but I think it would definitely work with your dress - especially if you're going for the vintage glam look! I love the idea!
I love the idea of gloves but FI doesn't care for them. It was one of his few requests that I do NOT wear gloves. I thought it was weird he was so adament about it but whatever. Your dress is perfect for a pair and honestly I think short gloves could b e really sleek too...
They showed some pretty hot sex gloves with the Amsale crumbcatcher gown.
The only thing I wonder is since you're getting married in June, will it be too hot for gloves?
Do you watch Glee? Don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't watched last week's episode yet, but definitely check out the episode online at Fox.com if you want to see a really beautiful example of stunning gloves with a wedding dress. I think you can pull off a similar look with your dress...

Ok, so while thinking of ways to accessorize my fairly plain dress, I thought "hey, why don't I wear gloves?"! I did a quick search online and came upon some really cute pics!
What's your honest opinion about wearing gloves on the wedding day? I know it used to be very common back in the day and it was just proper etiquette. But would you think it was weird if you saw it on a bride nowadays? Am I nuts? I just looooove the old vintage look, and I think it's so glamourous (if done tastefully of course).
Please share your thoughts!
The first pic is me in my (unaltered and unpressed) dress. :)
