You should read all of Mrs. Ant’s posts! Because of Mrs. Ant, we actually visited the Rockhouse last April.  It was absolutely beautiful. They only do a limited amount of weddings each year so make sure October isn’t already all booked.

Their coconut chicken was to die for!

With all destination weddings around hurricane season, you could always purchase travel insurance.

I am going to Jamaica in October!! For my honeymoon. We did get the travel insurance, and we almost didn’t book the Carribean for this obvious reason. But in reading a lot on the subject, the Caribbean is so vast and there are so many islands (that in contrast are teeny tiny), and the chances of a single hurricane hitting the island that you’re on during the time that you are there is so slim. Apparently, in Jamaica, the elders will talk about events in their lives happening before or after "the storm", because there was only one in their lifetime to take note of. Go for it!! I honestly cannot wait!!

Florida girl here so I know a thing or too about hurricanes.

If it was August then I would think it was risky. But October should be a pretty good time. Knock a few degrees off the heat too.

I know at some point I’m going start worrying about the "h" word for my July wedding Florida.

Best wishes and good luck!

Hey BunnyBlue,

Its all indoors.

My dad owns an air conditioning company and is basically "in charge" of all the units at the church that we are having the ceremony in so he knows how to make sure that its cranked real high 🙂 Also, the photographer has been told that the only outside pics that are being taken are going to last like 20  min tops. And thats under some shady banyan trees. My FI is from Wisconsin so his tolerance for heat is about nil.

I was at a wedding that was all outside. In June. In Florida. The fans they had in the tent just kinda mocked us. Not cool at all.

I’m going to St. Lucia in at the end of Sept., beginning of October. We just got the travel insurance but are hoping for the best.
