Okay so I have planned events before and I don’t ever remember table, chair, linen rentals being so much.
I am just getting plain white, nothing special…
They want to charge me $9 a table
$8 a chair
$15- $17 per white table cloth (This sounds really crazy to me!)
Equipment Tax $25
Damage Allowance Tax $25
Delivery & Pickup: $100
I am starting to think my planner maybe hooking up her vendors, since she has an ongoing relationship with them? rather than getting me the cheapest price:(

@BrideToBe14: Are the chairs Chiavari? That sounds normal.
Same with linens. This is the rental company I’ll be using and the pricing is the exact same.

Too many unknown factors:
– What kind of chairs? Chivari chairs typically cost more than others
– Where is your event? This matters. Renting equipment in NYC is far more expensive than rentals in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
– How far to deliver and pick up?
– Does this include set up?

@BrideToBe14: Your table prices seem pretty reasonable, depending on the size. I paid $12 a table for a 10 top. The chairs seem high, unless they are chivari charis. I paid $3.50 per white wooden chair with padded seats. The table cloth price seems pretty standard as well. Delivery and tax are normal, and the other taxes.
Obviously, prices will vary from area to area. Best practice is to ask for quotes from multiple companies to price compare.

I think it really depends on location and how nice the rentals are. Compared to my area, the table price seems normal, the chair price would be normal for a chiavari or equivalent chair, but the linen price seems high for plain white linens unless the linens are an unusual size. If you can shop around, I’d check with a couple other rental places to see how they compare.

That is almost exactly what I was quoted for everything. Any chances you have a hook-up with a church or hall that you could rent from instead of a wedding company?

The venue is not expensive….
This includes set up and delivery (well the fees i listed as that)

Those do seem like normal prices, but I agree that they are ridiculously high. I opted for just buying my linens, that way I could resell them after the wedidng and recoup most of my money. You can purchase a lot from Amazon that are the same price, if not cheaper, than most rentals.

That sounds about right for rentals. We paid $1.50 for plain white plastic chairs because I couldn’t stomach the Chivari prices. We paid $8 per 60″ round table. We didn’t end up renting linens because we were on a tight budget (we ended up doing poly lined paper but our wedding was very casual.)

@BrideToBe14: You might want to look into buying cheap white table clothes. Ive heard of many brides that find cheap linens, then resell them after the wedding.
