@born2teachuga:  You are complaining the shower invites aren’t good enough?  Yes, I would say you are having a bridezilla moment.  There is nothing wrong with invites from Wal-Mart and handwriting them.  They are not tacky.  Relax and let your sister and your mom handle it.  Maybe she can’t afford nicer invites or simply doesn’t want to spend that much.

Invitations from Wal-Mart are tacky, or hand writing them is tacky?

I dont think theres a problem with that, theyre the ones throwing the shower you shouldnt be worrying about it. I dont know how my sister is throwing my shower n really i dont want to think about it.. my family is cheap and i know they wont get printed invetations. I think the wedding invitations are more important for that sort of thing. But thats just me!

Neither wal-mart invitations nor handwritten invitations are tacky.  It’s very nice that they’re throwing you a shower.

Yes, you’re acting like a bridezilla. This is a party FOR you, not YOUR party. You should be grateful they’re throwing one for you, not analyzing what they could do better.

*hugs* yeah its kind of a bridezilla moment.  It’ll be okay.  I don’t think it’s tacky (esp. since not that formal of an event) but if anyone does, it would be on your bridesmaids, not you.

Honestly I think my sister and friends just phoned people or emailed them. I don’t even think they had invitations. It’s not tacky just be grateful they are having a shower for you.

I really hate the term bridezilla when it comes to wedding planning or being a first time bride. but focus on the fact that they are doing something nice for you.

Yeah, bridezilla moment. You need to chill and let them throw the shower for you. No one will care if the bridal shower invites don’t match your wedding. Just let them plan this party for you and say thank you for everything they do.

Yep. There’ll be bigger things to worry about, save your energy.

This is the way it used to be done not that long ago.  I think that it’s kind of nice that she is going to take the time to fill out the invites by hand.  If any of the guests think it’s tacky then they need to get over themselves.  Besides…spending a great deal of money on shower invitations is pretty pointless.

So yes you are having a bridezilla moment. Invitations from walmart aren’t tacky but I must agree that handwritten invitations a little tacky. You hand write invitations for kids bdays. My sister would’ve felt the same way, I got her invites from wedding paper divas. Just remember they are doing a nice thing for you and try to be gracious.

I think it is tacky to complain about the type of invitations others are preparing out of the kindness of their hearts for your shower.

No, the invites are NOT tacky. I prefer handwritten ones, they are much more heartfelt.
