I’d go for it! I’m sure it will be some work at first, but a 5 month old should be mostly potty and crate trained already.

@Funsince1983:  Fate! I would snap up that gorgeous little girl and just remind yourself its just one weekend she’ll go back to her foster mum, and you get to provide her with a loving home forever!

    Ooooh she’s so CUTE!

@Funsince1983:  If you want her and are capable of taking care of her, I see no reason why you shouldn’t have her.

Awwww what a cutie!  I think if it’s just for a weekend, it’s fine.  Very kind of the foster mom to offer to take her.  When our dog was that age, we had to go out of town on a long weekend and she did fine with our friends who watched her.  My only concern would be to make sure you can handle the initial costs (vet bills, puppy food, etc.) and stress of introducing a new puppy to the house right before the wedding.

OMG a Westie. I say do it just based on that alone. I grew up around a Westie, and although they are high energy, they are fantastic dogs. My mom is still, to this day, mouning his loss, and he has been gone for about 15 years. Such great dogs.

I couldn’t imagine adopting a puppy with less than 3 weeks to go until our wedding.  It’s so much work and I am a big believer in taking a week or two off work to help the new pup get used to the household and for me to learn their pee/poo expressions.  That said, if you think you can make it work, and you’ve been ready to add on to your family then do it.  It will take a little more work and a bit more hectic than usual but I think it will work out if you commit yourself to making it work.

@Funsince1983:  Absolutely do it!  That is totally fate.

Good luck on the upcoming wedding and your soon-to-be NEW PUPPEH!!!!!
