You have time, a girl I work with ordered theirs from DB(gasp) two weeks ago, and went to pick them up TODAY at lunch!
I just went on an epic journey to find a place to order our BM dresses for cheap. Everyone told me the latest they would be in if we order by the end of January would be the first week of May. They also said it would probably be sooner. I would just make sure to find out from the store.
You should be fine if you order something soon! I ordered ours from a bridal store online and they took 12-15 weeks which was way longer than I'd heard of other BM dresses taking. And if you're still having problems, you could look somewhere like Macy's, Dillards, Nordstrom, etc where your girls could order dresses online and have them in a week to a week and a half!
ETA: What are you looking for in terms of color, style, length, price, etc? Maybe some of us Bees could help you find something!
Are you definitely ordering from a designer/boutique? A lot of designers quoted me at 3-4 months for BM dresses, but if you find a dress you like at an online retailer like J Crew, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Zappos, etc it shouldn't take nearly as long.
My wedding is in May too (month twin!) and one of my BMs still hasn't ordered her dress--I wish I'd found them something online rather than at a bridal boutique--but I'm pretty sure she's going to have the order rushed so it arrives in time to get alterations.
We're looking for dark purple dresses - we've tried numerous DB dresses but we can't come to an agreement on a dress everyone likes, and none of them want to do the "pick out your own". They all think it would be easier if they all wore the same dress -_- They all also think it doesn't look like a wedding unless theyre wearing the same one.
SO yea, we've tried the lapis dresses from DB, and I've been searching online but it amazes me how much I hate every purple dress out there! I'm on Best Bridal Prices looking under their $150 section, thats the most I'd ask of any girl and really I was trying to keep it under $120. Any ideas would be so helpful, I'm driving myself and my BMs crazy! School has started again for them and its senior thesis year, they have NO time to go shopping and we're all over the country :\
@Pomapoo: I didn't think about bloomingdales, I'll try there too. J Crew and nordstrom are cute, but so expensive. I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to have to pay for this just so we can make a decision

Try this seller and look at their store to see if they have enough of the sizes you need. Everything is new with tags and they ship quickly.
@bells: Yea we've gone there several times and haven't found anything that more than 1 bridesmaid liked. And now that theyre back in school, the nearest DB's are more than an hour away.
@smyley: I'm looking now, thank you! It doesn't look like they carry enough dresses in my colors, but I will keep them bookmarked and check often!
check out www.lightinthebox.com
they are made overseas but great quality and decent prices. i really love my bridesmaids dresses. We bought them right before thanksgiving and it took them about 2 1/2 weeks to get here.
@arenyth: What do you think of any of these?

I'm trying to get a feel for the style you're maybe leeaning towards - long vs. short, neckline, material, etc - it would help me search for stuff for you!
Alright - so I might have struck gold for you on the Nordstrom's website! They have a bunch of dresses in purple for under $150 each - hopefully one of these will fit the bill!

And I also found one at Dillard's:

Thanks so much! Theyre all leaning towards short, I really don't care :) I like the first one a lot but theyre almost sold out. They tried one on similar to the second one and the complaint was that it made their boobs look like they drooped, it was weird. Third one too much ruching.
I really like this one:
http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/d496/?color=majestic&colorid=465
and this one but I'm worried about their grape color, it looks very brown:
and this one too, I'm tempted to get this and send it to my sister:
@totheislnds: I looked there before but their purple colors seem weird, did you feel the colors were accurately portrayed on their website? I use a color correct monitor and the grape color looks brownish
You could try Cocomyles.com if you can't find anything you like at a mainstream bridal store. That site gives you the option of picking a cut for the top, cut and length for the skirt, fabric, color, and embellishments (beading, sash, shawl, etc.). They run about $120-150 on average, from what I've seen and played around with.
go to the bridal boutiques to find a dress and order from netbride.com (check what designers they sell first)...some price quotes are around $120-133. for my own BM dress for a wedding i am in, i got it for $96 (bridal store price = over $200!). no tax, just shipping, which is $20, a bit more depending how many dresses you order. i ordered mine Dec. 29th and they gave me a guaranteed delivery date of April 1st. In the past i have ordered from them and the dresses came in 2 months.
here is the dress i got:
http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/d420/
there are tons of colors to choose from and the sash can be the same or a different color.
@Mrs.KMM: thanks for looking! We did look at those and everyone was kinda meh. I like the Suzy Chin one but it doesn't come in the right sizes! The Maggie London one is very nice too but I wonder if it looks casual? I'm sending that one to them now though
@Mrs Grape: ah I forgot about cocomyles, I'll check them out
@PurpleUnicorn: I never know which bridal websites to trust! I'm not against using actual BM dresses, I was just avoiding it because there are next to no bridal stores in the area I was visiting my BMs. So we just did dept stores and DB. I'll check netbride!
@arenyth: i can seriously vouch for netbride.com. i ordered from them in the past because i knew a colleague that had and had no issues. i had then had a good experience with them. and last week i ordered my own BM dress for the other wedding AND 9 other dresses between my wedding and the other wedding!
you can search on here for threads about netbride and see what others bees say - all good stuff
I'm talking to netbride now and they're telling me my orders are guaranteed to get here by April 20th, which is so cutting it close. My sister will be about to graduate I'm going to feel so bad for all of this. Does anyone know if BM dresses typically make it before their guarantee date?
have you tried www.WeddingtonWay.com? They're an online boutique dedicated to bridesmaid dresses. you can have your BM's order dresses through their site. You can even compare lineups to see what different dresses look like together side by side. A bonus feature is that you can have your bridesmaids rank their favorite styles too, if you would like. There's even a tracking tool, so you can see if your bridesmaids have ordered their dresses instead of having to constantly nag them! They give you a recommended order by date once you register as a bride. They're great to work with (I recently ordered my dress there for another wedding). They carry a variety of brands (dessy, simple silhouettes, coren moore, and more). They were super helpful and great on timing when I had questions!

Wedding is May 15th and I still haven't found our BM dress! I spent so long trying to find one that was under $100 we didn't even try the bridal boutiques, and now I feel like it's our only option. But will they get to us in time? Will I have to put a rush on them? I hate this so much, I hate shopping for other people, I can't make a decision and I'm going to have a frickin nervous breakdown. I have other things i need to be worrying about, I want it to be OVER!!!
