I’ll try to make this short.
Bought a new car Jan 1.
Brought car in 2 weeks later to have tires balanced because they seemed off after driving awhile (didn’t hit a curb, etc…) Dealership balanced tired. Got car back, and steering wheel seemed off center slightly. Brought back in the next day- asked them to do an alignment/to fix the steering wheel “issue”. Got car back that night.
Didn’t drive my car too often for a couple week (it’s been super cold, kiddo had a few days off of school- and often times I would drive my husband’s truck when I went out because he’d come home from work and it would be warm!)– finally was out a lot last week and noticed steering wheel was STILL crooked!! Brought to another dealership in another part of town because I was over there that day.
They were’t convinced the aligment was out, but made me wait THREE hours while they did a series of checklists, put 30 miles on my car– and in the end, made a small adjustment to my steering wheel to apparently center it. Got in my car to leave- it was WORSE. Asked dealership if they checked alignment before I left- my service advisor flat out told me NO.
That night, took my car to the shop that normally works on our cars. They did an alignment and gave me the print out. It DID need an alignment. Paid the shop.
Called the dealership when I got it back and left a detailed message for the service manager. This was last Wednesday. Spoke with a woman who sent an email to the service manager with all details and was told he would get back to me. Nothing Thursday or Friday– and I didn’t expect to hear anything over the weekend.
Called this morning and spoke with a gentlemen in service. I was very friendly and polite– maksing my utter annoyance. He said it was not OK that no one got back to me last week. Tried to get manager on the phone– he was tied up. This guy told me he was very sorry for what happened, left another message for manager marked “urgent”, and I would hear from someone absolutley today.
It’s 7pm. Haven’t heard from anyone that has anything to do with cars all day.
I want to go IN to the dealership tomorrow to hunt down the manager- is this acceptable?
I’m feeling like I have given them TWO opportunities to rectify this themselves.
