@nataliegrace90:  Don’t read tests after 20 mins! They can be totally invalid. Take another test with your FMU tomorrow.

I say Yes.  I bought out dollar tree when I was TTC and never had a evap line, especially a pink one (I saved them for a day or so to compare ). Of course holding with half hour pee would show nothing, these aren’t sensitive. Buy an FRER. My money is youre preggo!

I really really hate to say this, but the exact same thing happened to me with one of those tests (I was NOT pregnant). I wouldn’t say all hope is lost, try again in the morning.

Did the first test have that line within about 10 minutes? Also, you should have at least a 4 hour hold, so the 30 minute hold probably wasn’t enough. If that first line showed up within 10 minutes then it’s a positive. If it showed up only 7 hours later it’s not valid.

@nataliegrace90:  I would go and buy a digital and try with FMU tomorrow. Good luck!

Unfortunately neither of these are good test samples. The first one is way outside the time scope and the second is too diluted. Test again with FMU and update us. Good luck!

@nataliegrace90:  Stop testing with cheapies! If you want to know, you would need an FRER or similar sensitivity.  You will just be guessing until then.  If you are basing your “am I pregnant” off of that pink line you saw, you would show up positive on a first response..so I would test today.

I voted before i fully read. Whoops. I’d change my vote to Too soon to tell. Try again with FMU in a day or two

@nataliegrace90:  Hmmm…I tried to post last night but now my comment is gone, woh woh.  I think there are three possibilities – either you are pregnant and your urine was too diluted when you re-tested (half hour hold is for sure not enough, you need at least 4 hours), you’re not pregnant, or you are and it’s too early to test.  If you actually ovulated 5 days ago, it’s way too early for you to be testing – chill out and wait at least another 4 or 5 days.  I would second @BellaDee as well – if you’re impatient and want to test earlier get some FRERs, they’re more sensitive.  Some women get early positives on the cheap tests, but for most you aren’t going to get a clear positive on that until you’ve missed your period.

I disagree with some of the others who are saying you’d definitely show up positive on a FRER if you have a positive on one of these. It looks like you’re using a Walmart cheapie, which gave me my first obvious BFP (at 8 DPO). However, my lines came up immediately (definitely within the 3 minute timeframe recommended). In retrospect, FRERs WERE giving lines (right around 10+ minutes, though), but they were super faint and it was difficult to tell.

But if it is a Walmart test, I’ve heard good and bad things. In my case, I had an implantation dip at 6 DPO, with a temp rise the very next day, so I felt the Walmart test was fairly *accurate* in my case (I later went on to get super-obvious BFPs at 10 DPO on FRERs, Clearblues, etc.).

But I’ve heard many negative reviews of the Walmart tests, too — that some just leave test lines all of the time, even when someone isn’t pregnant. It looks like I *maybe* see a very faint line on the second test in your original post, but it’s very hard to tell. I’m voting that the top picture is probably an evap — even when I implanted at 6 DPO, my lines were VERY faint at 8 DPO (to the extent that I wouldn’t expect a line like you’ve got on that top one until 8+ days, maybe around 10 or 11 DPO).

If you’re only 5 or 6 DPO, that’s sort of to be expected, though. Maybe give it two more days and test again?

Best wishes for you. I know how hard and lonely trying to conceive can be. I hope this is it.
