So it seems most of us bees are related since most have an Aunt Flo. FI thinks I am crazy, but I LOVE having my period. Anyone else? For some reason, I feel better and am always in a good mood when I am menstrating. Maybe it has something to do with hormones.

    You're crazy! :)

I always just feel kind of gross when Aunt Flo is around so no, I'm not a fan.

Yeah I would think it has everything to do with your hormones. I personally hate it, and am glad I hardly ever get it anymore. Aunt flo was a pain in my ass.

Yes--I think you are the only one that likes aunt Flo!  I loved when I was taking Loestrin and got no period

You're nuts...best part of physically being pregnant (not having a baby, obviously) is no period.

Yeah I'm definitely not a fan.  I have awful cramps and my mood swings give my boyfriend whip lash.  Plus I have a chronic illness that makes me violently ill during my period.  Haha, kind of hard to like that time of the month when you're throwing up everywhere.

I only like it because it lets me know I'm not preggers! Actually, mine really isn't that bad but my gyno now has me on a BC that causes me to have four periods a year which is kinda bad because periods are reassuring!

I am in 5 days of misery when I have my period. I loved being pregnant and not getting it.

I love it in 1 certain way. I know I'm healthy and my body is working properly when I get it. Do I enjoy bloody panties, and crying when someone doesn't say hi in the hallway? No. But I take great pleasure in knowing my body is working the way it is supposed to.

@vmec: This is how I feel too. Like it's my body way of saying, "all is right in the uterus" lol. I like knowing my body is functioning in a healthy way.

I am definitely not a happy camper during that time. At all. It's a miserable 5 days for me as well. However, I do really appreciate what it means (before TTC at least) because I used to not get my period regularly due to ovarian cysts so when it started coming by itself it was a celebration!

It is good when I have it because it means no baby!  But, I don't "enjoy" it.  My periods aren't bad, either.  I just don't like bleeding/blood.

I hate aunt flo. Besides (as @vmec said), knowing my body is working properly and healthily, I hate it.

I have severe cramps, I throw up, I have terrible mood swings (although, not as bad as they used to be). I also don't like being worried about "changing" things all the time. Or being "prepared" for it all the time....

    @Running Elley:  This.

When I get my period = I likely ovulated which makes me very happy since in high school I'd get like maybe 2 or 3 periods a year!  Many believe that sounds wonderful, not so much when you know it's not normal.

But now I get really long periods so it's getting frustrating, oh hormone issues.  You would think I'm menopausal except that I'm 22.

@.twist.: & @MissOtter31: I am so shocked to hear your periods make you this sick. I have never heard of this. I am sorry.

Maybe I am just lucky with easy periods? I have light cramping and have never used anything more than a normal absorbency tampon. No midol, no tylenol, no chocolate cake lol.

@Mrs.ChubbyBunny: haha yea. it's terrible. I used to have to stay home from school/work. Not in a "omg my tummy feels gross" way, but more in a "if I leave the toilet, there will be puke and other things, everywhere". It's gotten much better since I switched birth controls, I don't miss work anymore, and I don't throw up anymore, but I still get REALLY bad cramps.

@Mrs.ChubbyBunny: I have something called Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome so it's really not my period that's causing it.  It's the change in hormones.  But, regardless, it happens during my period.  I'm so jealous of your periods (is that weird to say?)!  Haha.

I like it for 2 reasons... it lets me know I'm not pregnant and once I get it I know in 4 days I won't have it again for a month and I can stop thinking about it for a while lol.

Oy. I'm currently cursing out Aunt Flo. I feel so ridiculously terrible and stayed in bed basically all day eating combinations of things that should never go together. Damn her!

Aunt Flo is pretty nice to me tooSmile I'm really moody a couple days before she visits, but while she is here I am so laid back and in such a great mood. I don't get any cramps or anything. I don't know if my birth control causes this or what, but I really don't mind Aunt Flo.

is it just me or does it make anyone else extra oily? I wash my hair about every 2 days the rest of the month but on my period I am lucky if I can go one day without washing I also have to wash my face 3 or 4 times a day instead of twice a day the rest of the month. ugh! aunt flo can just bite me!

I think a period is the single most horrendous thing to happen to a woman. Thankfully, I haven't had one in well over a year because of bc. But now, i am unpatiently waiting for the damn thing to come so I can get some more permanent bc (hopefully something totally permanent).

I like getting it because it means no babies!! I'd rather have cramps now then labor pains in 9 months. It's pretty low key when I get mine. Just some cramps that don't bother me too much and then remembering to have an extra tampon in my purse if I need it.

Is there any other female creature on the earth that bleeds regularly, once a month, and survives?Apparently This is why Im super moody when Aunt Flo makes an appearance. This is according to my FI. I however am on good terms with Aunt flo this month,as there was a chance I could have been on my period on our wedding day (My uterus refuses to recognise the definition of "timing" lol) but I wont be so hallelujah to that!

The only part of it I enjoy is that my skin clears up during it. It gets really soft and healthy. So I enjoy that aspect. Just not the rest. :)

Mine only lasts two, maybe three days, but it's full on nausea, moodiness, cramps, and heavy bleeding for those few days. Then suddenly it just stops. So weird. But no, I definitely do not look foward to my period each month. Bleh.

I had no objection before I started birth control, mostly because I lost 2 or 3 pounds that week. Now that I'm on birth control, I cramp pretty badly and that's not fun. But yay for period sex!
