registry stalks OTHER people? One of FI’s friends just sent out their save the dates and I was SO excited to run home and check out their registries.
I like to roll my eyes over some things people register for (a breakfast sandwich maker? how often will you really use that huge, single-purpose appliance?), oogle ugly china, and go “OH! I need to add one of those to our registry!”.
Anyone else want to fess up?

Can’t say that I have as of yet, but now that you have brought that up, I think I will keep an eye out for that for the next wedding I am invited to. Ahahaha.

@StL.Ashley: we have a sandwich maker, and it gets used at least twice a week. just saying.
one of FI’s friends registered for a refrigerator, bedroom furniture, along with probably $2500 in top of the line cookware. the bedroom furniture makes no sense- they live in a TINY studio apartment, and it’s full of furniture already.

I haven’t, but most of my friends are single so I haven’t had the opportunity. We have a panini maker (it was on our registry) and I am in LOVE with it, though it isn’t just used for breakfast sandwiches… I’m not sure what a breakfast sandwich maker is

@colorofmyheart: who registers for a refrigerator?! haha!
Maybe they intend to buy it themselves after the wedding since they’ll get a discount? The places we registered allow us to still add stuff to our registry even after the wedding and we get the 10% off on those items for up to 6 months. I just added a desk to ours last week and bought it 10 minutes later at the discounted price 😛 Though… our wedding is over so no one is looking at our registry now and what silly things might be on there

I recently saw a breakfast sandwich maker, and my husband was so sad we didn’t find it earlier so we could register for one (and he is crazy practical, he hates the idea of having single purpose anything!)! But I totally do that. I would kind of be judgey about how much stuff cost, more than anything (not that our registry wasn’t the same if not worse, but I’m crazy, so…)

I would totally be the type to do that if I had friends fetting married!
Oh, and as for registering for appliances/furniture, we did that too. not because we expect anyone to buy it for us, but so that we can buy it after the wedding at 25% off at our registry close out sale.

Yeah, it’s not a panini press type thing – it’s a specific breakfast sandwich maker. I’ve never heard of such a thing! And I’ve BEEN to their house. Their kitchen is teeny tiny – I have no idea where they are going to store all of these small appliances they registered for (you name it, they registered for it).

@StL.Ashley: I totally registry stalk. Love it. I also edit mine frequently.

I was initially thinking “hey, I use my toasted sandwich maker all the time!” But apparently a toasted sandwich maker / panini maker and a breakfast sandwich maker are two very different things. This is a breakfast sandwich maker:
I don’t think I’d use that much at all.
ETA: Sorry OP, that post wasn’t aimed at you, it was for the benefit of other posters like myself who assumed that breakfast sandwich maker = toasted sandwich maker!

I definitely am guilty of that… In particular, when a girl who has treated me poorly in the past got engaged and married… I definitely laughed at some of the things on her registry.. Oopsie

We have a TOASTER that makes breakfast sandwiches. It’s absurd.
And not so much wedding registries, but I LOVE stalking baby registries!
