It depends on the bustle for me.  I personally didn’t like a one or two point but I love a French or cascading bustle.

I’m not a huge fan of most bustles because I feel like they mess up the line of the dress, and I think there are very few dresses that bustling doesn’t end up looking to me like a bunch of fabric crammed up your backside.

Plus for those of us with big behinds, extra volume back there isn’t needed or wanted

I am with the others as far bustles. It really depends on the dress. I really like some bustles but on simpler dresses I think it kinda interupts it. Like sheath like dresses with small trains…the bustle bugs me…but larger fuller gowns, I think it can be neat.

I got married last week and I truly feel like my bustle complimented my dress. My gown had a long train that wouldn’t been practical to dance in after ceremony so I had a five point bustle that tucked my skirt under to look like the same exact dress just shorter. Worked out very well.

BeeinBoston:  Your dress is stunning! I hope my dress can be bustled so that it looks like the same dress only shorter, too! Is it Jim Hjelm? It looks perfect on you!

I love bustles on dresses that are done well! I agree though that it really depends on the dress and which bustle you pick. My favorite is the Austrian bustle, though I don’t think my dress will allow me to do it.

I loved the bustle on my dress!! I also had a huge train that I couldn’t wait to get up. There was no way I was going to be able to dance with it down. I can post a pics next week if you’d like, I’m currently out of town and don’t have my usb with my wedding pics with me.

I LOVED my bustle. I loved my dress with the train down, but the bustle made me feel so super sexy.

I don’t have my pro pics back yet so I don’t have any pictures of it down, but up it felt (and looked) amazing!

Very non pro pic of me and my dad below:

MrsYellowDaffodil: I’ve got to admit, I’m not a fan. I love that it’s possible, practical wise, but I loved my dress for its train.

I would never have dreamed of bustling my tulle ballgown. My reception dress is satin with a very long, asymmetrical train and I got a french bustle put in – I love it! No pics yet since the wedding isn’t for another month, though.
