My fiance & I spent a week on the Amalfi coast a couple of years ago & loved it. I absolutely recommend it. We flew into Rome, took a train to Naples (which we also really liked and stayed in for a few days), then took the train to Sorrento. From Sorrento we took a bus to Praiano, which we made our hub. From Praiano, it was easy to take the bus to either end of the coast. We did a ton of hiking, which was breathtaking, and also did a day trip to Sorrento where we took a cooking class. We absolutely loved the Amalfi Coast, it was our favorite part of the trip. I hope you go!
I am also looking into going to the Amalfi Coast! It looks so beautiful and I love that there is a lot to do but you can relax by the water too! The best of both worlds! Keep me posted on what you end up doing!
I went on a trip around Italy two years ago and Amalfi Coast was beautiful. I was there towards the end of my trip and pretty exhausted from all of my traveling so I spent a whole day dozing on the beach. It was heavenly!
If you aren't dead set on the Amalfi Coast, one of my favorite places in Italy was Cinque Terre. It is a group of 5 villages on the Italian Riviera. It is gorgeous and would be very romantic. The villages are connected by trails and it was nice to hike and watch the beautiful scenery and then dip into the beach at the end.
Best of luck on your honeymoon planning. :)
I will try to attach a pic but I haven't attempted this yet and I've heard it's tricky.
Pic 1: Amalfi Coast
Pic 2: Cinque Terre- Manarola
We were going to do the Amalfi coast for our honeymoon until our budget got cut. I went there a few years ago and fell in love. We went to Ischia for a few days and it was one of the highlights of my 2 months in Europe. I always said I would go back and explore the whole coast -I hope you end up going!
And I second checking out Cinque Terre if you have time!
Oops just noticed my pics got reversed! The one with the palm tree is Amalfi Coast and the other is Cinque Terre.
Mr. Library and I aren't staying on the Amalfi Coast, but we are going to Rome. It's pretty affordable if you shop around for hotels (we got a really nice one on orbitz.com for $98 a night!), but you'll have to expect a bit for airfare. Good luck and share pictures when you have them!

Anyone ever been to the Amalfi Coast? We are trying to decide if we can make this work and are just starting our research. I think we would stay a few nights on the coast then maybe go to Capri' for the rest of the trip. Thanks!
