I’ve been semi keeping up with it.  I do think she is innocent and hope they finally get the verdict right and she can come home soon.

Not closely, but I did read The Monster in Florence and the author briefly touches on her case in the epilogue. The Italian “justice” system is questionable at best.

It’s been EVERYWHERE here. I wasn’t really familiar with the case, but have been reading up on it the past few days.

I tend to sway towards thinking she’s innocent. They definitely don’t have enough hard evidence to say she’s guilty. I was horrified when I heard that the Italian system will allow the prosecutors to appeal her not guilty verdict if she gets it. Seriously, leave them alone.

The BBC radio stations have been playing a lot of tapes from the courtroom and it seems like the Italian system relies a lot on sensationalism and circumstantial evidence. They have been ragging on the US from the beginning because we have capital punishment, but their system is far more deeply flawed than ours is.

@Mrs.Firefly1: I know. It’s ridiculous the circus the Italian government has allowed surrounding this whole thing. I do not think that Amanda Knox and her boyfriend have gotten a fair trial in any sense.

In my opinion, they already have the guy who killed Meredith Kercher in prison… and then they almost halved his sentence because he “apologized”. What BS.

For anyone who is not familiar with this case, read the BBC coverage. It’s far more inpartial than the American or Italian coverage.

normally I don’t follow these things, but she’s a local girl.  my former boss knows her family, so she followed it closely.

I read about her a couple years ago in a magazine (Glamour?) and have loosely followed the story. I don’t believe she’s guilty.
