Anyone using Amazon.com’s Universal Registry: a note of warning that I could use your help with. I found that gifts purchased through Amazon’s “Universal Registry” option weren’t being removed/marked as purchased in my registry. I did a little research, and I realized that if users click on the hyperlinked title of the item on the left to view it, they’re taken away from amazon and to the vendor’s site–and they’re no longer connected to the registry.
If they use the links at right, however (“shop this store” or “buying gift elsewhere”) it works just fine. I’ve notified Amazon of this serious glitch (I’m afraid I’m going to start getting multiples of everything), and I got a standard “thanks for your email” message–but no action has been taken. I know I’m not the only one with this problem. They’ve got a feedback email, and it would be great if as many people as possible could write them about this problem; perhaps then they’d fix it.
