Mine definitely soaks the undergarments sometimes. I think that's pretty normal.I've had pretty heavy discharge through my whole pregnancy.
In my own personal experience, you'll probably know if you start leaking amniotic fluid. You might hear or feel a "popping" that will clue you in, but also, it'll probably be a consistent leak that will be heavy enough to warrant changing a pad every hour or so. When my water broke with Addie (the first time), it was a very slow leak, but enough that I needed to change my panty liner before going to the hospital.
It's probably just increased discharge (you're coming up on the joys of 3rd tri :) but you can still call your doc, just as a precaution. The test for amniotic fluid is super fast and easy; it looks just like a pH test strip that they dip in the fluid.
@winniewolf: I just started soaking through as well. It's less than awesome. I think if it's a consistent flow it's an issue and would call, but for me it's just here and there.
Don't you love the things the DON'T tell you about in pregnancy?!
Sounds pretty normal to me, but like pp have said if it is a contant flow or you just need a little more piece of mind give your Dr. a call. =)
I've definitely been experiencing heavier discharge over the last month or so. I agree with the consistent v. intermittent flow thing though. If it was more than the occasional surge and seemed to persist, I'd call for peace of mind.
LOL thank you ladies!
It seems to be of the same consistency of other pregnancy discharge and there was definitely no pop or anything (and it would be craaaazy early for any of that). It just felt like I went my pants and then, surprise! Though, I wouldn't put it past myself to wet my pants these days....I mean, every time I sneeze it almost happens! I think if it persists in this amount, I will call, but from what everyone is saying, it seems normal.
Pregnancy is so gross!

Possible TMI.
My OB says to call if you notice a difference in mucuous/leaking fluid. My question is how do you tell the difference between normal pregnancy discharge and amniotic fluid? To date, I have had what I thought was "normal" amounts of pregnancy-related mucous/discharge. But just a few minutes ago, I had more than the "normal" amount (enough to go through my underpants). Not sure if this merits a call to my OB? How do you know if fluid is abnormal? I'm almost 24 weeks.
Thanks
