Watergrl523:  I do not have an amora gem, but I do have a moissanite. As far as clarity goes, you definitely want the D VS2. Those specs are the best all the way around.

I also agree with Beth about “shrinkage”. I thought my 1.85 carat moissanite was huge, but now it doesn’t seem that large. Don’t get me wrong, I still think my stone is plenty big, but it doesn’t seem as overwhelming as it once did. I personally like larger stones and they suit my personality, so I would go for the 1.25 carat as long as it’s in your budget and you are comfortable with it.

What cut are you going with? I’ll post a chart below that helps give you an idea of finger coverage using a round stone as an example. The percentage that intersects with your ring size and the stone carat weight will tell you (strictly as a guideline) whether the carat weight is too big (blue), just right (orange), or too small (black) for your hand.

Please keep in mind that this is just a general guide that can be used to help you decide. What it really comes down to is what you like and what you think is practical as well as what you’re comfortable with wearing. Let me know if you have any other questions! 🙂

Watergrl523:  i have the amora gem 1.3 ct. i was going to go with the 1.25 but one wasn’t available – the 1.3 was. so after talking to my jeweler he said it would fit perfectly in the setting. I went with H color (the side diamonds are G) and i dont even notice a difference. the stone is warmer yes but thats what i love. i dont like ice white diamonds/stones. the clairty is a SI1. i was uber nervous in ordering such a lower clarity stone but you know what – i hardly notice any flaws. i had it under a scope and sure they’re there magnified for all to see but by the naked eye, barley visable. i havent noticed any ‘shrinkage’ as the halo makes it look a bit bigger than the 1.3 size. i wear size 6 so it covers (with the halo) about 45%. bang in the middle. so to me it’s perfect!

Watergrl523:  Well, after some research I would have to say that the Amora Gem Ultra is definitely the most diamond-like. No matter how much you enhance moissanite, it’s still its own gemstone with a personality so it’ll still be slightly different than a diamond.

I don’t think you could honestly go wrong with either! The top photo is an Amora Gem Ultra, the bottom photo is an Amora Moissanite paired with a diamond band. Both gemstones get incredible reviews!

Watergrl523:  thanks! and to reply to your other question. i have to say honestly i dont know. the only other moissy i saw was untreated and it looked green. in my case i can honestly say that even the jeweler was impressed on how ‘diamond like’ it looked (fiy – he has never heard of an amora before i brought mine in). would it convince the average bear? sure it would! i never go around saying its a diamond but if someone asks i will say what it is. btw – i love your ring choice!

I don’t have this ring anymore but it’s a 1.21 carat F  color internally flawless  amora gem ultra. It was very beautiful but I think i would prefer a G color instead.

mrssloan2013:  That’s really pretty! Looks like an H&A diamond to me, I think I would be fooled if I had to say what it was. If you don’t mind me asking, why didn’t you keep it? Does it appear darker in the center than a diamond? The first pic you posted makes it look dark – not that it’s a bad thing, I just don’t have much experience with diamonds.

I bought it to see what all the hype was about. I purchased it at the same time I bought my diamond. I decided that I liked the diamond better. The arrows appear rounded in the center of the stone. I think because the arrows are so prominent is what makes it look dark is in the center. Honestly I think the F was too white for me but had it of been a G and a little larger I probably would have kept it and sent the diamond back.  The cut is seriously to die for!

Watergrl523:  I just wanted to compare the center stones. You can buy them loose and put them in any setting you like! Both of the pictures are posted are rings from actual Amora customers. I was reading all the reviews so that’s why I really feel like it’s a toss-up between the Amora Moissanite and the Amora Gem Ultra. I don’t see too much a difference, so I think for me it’d come down to price. 🙂
