An Affordable Key West Wedding? -- Hemingway? Audubon? Cats?

Hello All!

Im new to Wedding Bee and looking for advice. I'm currently planning a Key West wedding. Im from Miami, FL and thinking Key West is convient for my family but still gives me a destination wedding feeling. My fiancee's family all lives in New England and excited about a tropical getaway.

I am on a tight budget and looking at some affordable and flexible options:

1) Hemingway House: We love the history of the place and the pictures look great. Love the idea of an outdoor reception. Questions: What is the average cost? Are the cats a problem? What do you think of the ceremony space?

2) Audobon House: Its a unique venue and a lovely outdoor venue. Question: What do you do if it rains as they don't allow tents?

3) Roof Top Cafe: Questions: What is the feeling of the venue? I want a little bit of glam to a Key West relaxed affiar, can I obtain this feeling here?

Would love any ideas you have, suggestions or other options

@BettyGrace: Welcome to the Bee!!! :) As far as for weather, South Florida weather can be unpredictable. I would recommend you check on the Farmer's Almmanc and check back on the last five years to see if it rains on your date. My FI did this to see if we should be concerned with any rain. Also, try contacting the wedding coordinators of these locations...they will give you a lot of helpful information you are seeking.

I have seen many wedding pictures taken at the Hemingway House and it looks like a great venue. I absolutely love the place! I couldn't find any reviews on Audobon House but it's very nice as well. Based on the pictures from these venues, I think you can't really go wrong with the Hemingway House or Audobon House. You can glam it up as you like and still have relax feeling to the affair.
