Honestly not sure what to call this post. We just got back from our family vacation. I decided to leave my anniversary ring at home for safe-keeping, which was a hard and painful decision. But, I posted in a different thread that I realized I’ve lost enough weight that I can once again wear my original ERing. So (!!) I decided to take her on the trip with me. It was fun getting reacquainted with my first love, and I have to say I think the “old gal” still has some lovely spark to her.
And, of course, I decided to grab a few pictures while my family wasn’t looking. (They think I’m totally nuts for always taking pictures of my jewelry. LOL)
Recreating my favorite “lemon” picture:
A pic in the San Diego sunshine. (Love how there’s a bit of sparkle on the baguette.)
And in a bit of shade:
What about you guys? Help me celebrate being able to wear my original ERing by showing me your vacation pictures, too! (Or heck, just any picture you like. I love looking at any and all jewelry pics. )

I love baguettes. I think they just look so classy!
I caught a cool pic while exploring the unkown territory of hand pics. I caught some fire on my heart, and I thought it was pretty cool

Bridey77: I love that sparkle on your heart diamond! She is sparkling like a BOSS! So, so pretty.
You know, the funny thing is that baguettes have never been my favorite cut. When DH and I initially picked out my engagement ring, I liked the setting in spite of it having baguettes. I figured they were pretty small, so they shouldn’t bother me. Over the years, I came to really like them in this particular setting. And now, I find I like them quite a lot in the different settings I see on the WB boards. I’ve always had one baguette in this setting that looks kind of dark or dull. But it’s the one sparkling in this picture … so perhaps it’s the way the shadows tend to hit the setting when I look at it. Strange …

longtimemrs: I love the baguettes on your original ering! Baguettes are my favorite thing so I like the flashes of light they give off compared to the sparkle of rounds. I’m curious what mm is your wedding band? I’m on the wedding band hunt currently. Here’s my beauty. I hope you had a great vacation.

Strawberryshmoo: Thanks! They grew on me over the years. I love the look of longer, “leaner” baguettes like the ones on your ring. But I definitely came to also love my shorter little baguette “cutie-pies”.
My wedding band is 2.5mm. I thought about getting it in 3mm, but ended up going with the smaller width because it was more in the price range I wanted to pay. I’m glad of it, in the end. It ended up being a perfect width for me.

mrssloan2013: Thanks so much — on both counts! I still have a LOOOONG way to go with weight loss, but these small victories are really nice. It’s stuff like this that helps keep me from getting discouraged.
