So I’m really considering a pretty upbeat song for my walk down the aisle. (I won’t say which song yet. It’s a secret.) 🙂 My Fiance and I can’t decide if it’s a good idea or not. We LOVE the song, but we’re afraid it won’t be the right vibe.
Anyone else walk down the aisle to an upbeat song? How was it? Or are you considering a less-traditional song?
So far I am planning to do upbeat and very non-traditional songs for both our processional and recessional. I’d link on youtube but it’s blocked at work.. but right now our bridal party will be walking in to “Hummingbird Heart” by Charlene Kaye, and I will be entering with “Tunnels (Neighborhood #1)” by The Arcade Fire. My song is subject to change.. I really like it but it’s not a song that has much significance to me.
But anyway, personally speaking there was never any question of doing something non-traditional for the music! What do you think is wrong with the “vibe” of the song??
@rainbowglitterbride: Upbeat doesn’t necessarily mean not serious or goofy! As far as the length, are you using a dj or an ipod? If your dj has your music ahead of time, they should be able to time things and mix things together, and fade out the music when necessary. You can also request that they only use a specific part of the song maybe so that you don’t have to listen to a 30 second intro. Or if you are using an ipod, maybe download some mixing software, and try and splice the songs together yourself?
