Ugh. Just ugh. So I posted this a little while back http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/silk-flower-tutorial
The gist was that the silk flowers I wanted from the vendor I selected in FEBRUARY weren’t available. They kept being put on backorder. Then she got sick and fell off the grid. Well after weeks of waiting, they finally arrived. Click the link to see why I’m ‘ugh’ing yourself.
From a distance they’re beautiful. I don’t want to say the vendor’s name because her work usually IS wonderful. She’s having a rough spot in her life and I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt that her quality isn’t the norm. Unfortunately, as a customer, I pay for a service, I expect that service. And for the amount I paid, I fully expect them to be properly packaged and ready to be used straight out of the box. I’m the least craft person in existence and even I think I could have put these together with enough persistance.
So now I’m stuck again. I have 43 days until my wedding, no flowers, my budget is blown (she’s refunding me, but based on prior communication, I don’t know when the money will be back in the account) in this department and I have no skills. When I posted that other thread, I think I was posting it without really thinking it would happen.
Now I need to figure out which side of a glue gun to face away from me, how to arrange a bouquet and how to unglue the inevitable rhinestones from my fingers. I’m beginning to panic a little. Minor panic as in a worst case scenario, I can pray that the supermarket’s floral options are nice.
Sorry, I just needed to vent. This stinks, I booked this person in FEBRUARY, this should have been checked off of my list MONTHS ago.

@MrsFutureG: Oh man, those pics made me cringe. I’m so sorry! Do you have any crafy BM’s, moms, friends even co-workers???

@MrsFutureG: There are some beautiful options on etsy. Here’s an example…

@MrsFutureG: Oh what a mess. I would be very dissatisfied too. That is just sloppy, and I am surprised they were even sent out to you like that.
Do you know anyone who is crafty?? I would try and see if you can get a friend, coworker, anyone who knows how to do flowers. Go to some local shops and see if you can find someone who sells floral items, and see if maybe they could do something for you.
I am sorry. Good luck!

@thumpurr: Yeah, her work is usually top notch in pictures, so I’m giving her benefit of the doubt that this is because her health has made her business a low priority. With that said, I’m NOT happy that I gave her from February and I got this unuseable crap barely over a month before the wedding. As a customer, I am beyond disatisfied!
I am really lucky though, my friends are super crafty. I can’t do anything but multiple people have stepped forward and excitedly told me they would help.

@MrsFutureG: Oh good!! I am glad you have some people who are willing to step up and help. You don’t need to deal with this, you don’t have the time.

@MrsFutureG: i’d be beyond pissed. i think you have a big heart for even trying to give her a benefit of the doubt since she seems to be going through something, but her personal life is really not your problem. honestly, if her health is getting in the way of her business then she should close up shop until she is healthy.
with that said, maybe you can reach out on etsy and find a reputable seller that would be willing to work quickly to give you the flowers you deserve for your wedding day. good luck
