Thr last time I did this was 5 years ago and I cannot remember what the process is. The scan is for later this afternoon. Do I need to make sure I have an empty stomach? Or is there anything in particular to do or not do in order for the tech to get a good look at the baby? Thanks for any input!

I think you can eat, but they really want you to drink a lot too I think? Just drink lots of fluid about an hour before the test, don’t pee. If you bladder is too full, they’ll let you empty some!

Eating is fine. A full bladder helps lift your uterus so they can see the baby better, so drink lots. Good luck today. 🙂

I ate food before mine an the tech aske me if I needed to use the restroom before we started, so I don’t think either matter.

Eating is fine, techs at my hospital always say a comfortably full belly. If it’s too full they’ll ask you to empty some.

@BearyLovely: You can eat normally, I think I was told to have a full bladder, but then halfway through she made me empty it so the baby had more room to move around. There’s nothing really you can do to help the process. Just cooperate with whatever the technician needs, they have to check a lot of stuff so it takes about an hour
