lol I don’t know many brides who do this. I think they conveniently forget because it’s uncomfortable? I have no idea. It’s not a tradition of mine so I didn’t even do the something old something new thing.

For my wedding, I got a dollar coin with our wedding year on it. It’s similar to how my mom had a half dollar coin with her wedding year on it.

We used a brand new penny. My mama put it in my shoe right before I met with my dad to walk down the aisle.

In the US they use a shiny penny. No I won’t be doing this, it sounds uncomfortable.

I didn’t put the six pence in my shoe, but I had it in my clutch (which, granted, I didn’t carry during the ceremony, but still).

@canarydiamond:  Ebay, you can find them there. I bought my fiance a pair of six pence cufflinks for his engagement present on ebay from england. The six pences were from the year of his birth, which happened to be the last year the six pence was minted. The ones from that year are rare as they were never circulated just put into collector’s sets. My fiance collects coins, and cufflinks 🙂 so it was a very heartfelt gift considering the meaning behind the sixpence in the wedding ryhme.

@michiru4ever:  Slice the liner under the heel in your shoe slide it in there and glue back down :).
