@NauticalBride2011: Oh NO!! That sucks :-( Do you have a hard cast? Is there any way they can give you a soft cast for your wedding and honeymoon at least?
That really sucks. I sprained mine bad last fall. I hope your FI is taking good care of you.
Oh noo! So sorry to hear that! At least in the formals, maybe you can drop the crutches and your cast will be hidden by your dress. Who's walking you down? Maybe you can have two people help walk? Not sure what to do about the dancing though.. :(
Yeah I mean we just may hobble around the dane floor for the first dance. In terms of walking down the aisle, I'm not sure. Maybe essentially have my brother and dad help carry me down. And I still have to go to the orthopedic surgeon this week, so I'm not sure what kind of cast I'll have. I just cannot even believe this is happening to me. After all the work I've put into it......god it's just miserable. But nothing I can do about it now.
awww i'm sorry I hope it heals quickly.where are you going on your honeymoon? I am sure you will be able to find fun things you can still do even with your broken ankle. maybe you can bling out your cast for the wedding lol
You can take good care of yourself, have a fab wedding no matter what and is it possible you might look back on this one day and laugh? Small chance, maybe?
@miss sparkly cat: Greece. So that should be interesting on crutches ugh.
Maybe I'll laugh about this one day. Certainly not tonight.
Yikes! So sorry to hear this happened! Hopefully you'll get a "walking cast" and that will help things!
something to think about is arranging some stylish chairs so you can both sit during the ceremony
yikes like a PP said hopefully you will get a walking cast so you can get around and see the sights
omg! I'm so sorry!!! I had a friend who broke her fib. a few months ago and she had a lot of recovery to do...but she was not in a cast for long. Maybe you'll be able to take it off for the wedding day?
Aaaww, so sorry to hear it's a break and not a sprain! :( Ugh! YOu will be a beautiful bride no matter what & your day will be lovely. Maybe you can come up with some creative ideas to make the best of the situation!
Definately blog or video your wedding and honeymoon according to crutches!
I'm so sorry it turned out to be a break , thats a total bummer, but thank God you got it addressed, and didn't risk playing around on it, making the problem worse.
Have everyone sign your cast on your wedding, and do the best you can. Like I said, I think it will ad a great amount of character to your wedding!
@Eva Peron: LOL about "according to crutches" and I agree, everyone should sign the cast!
Or make a garter to go around the cast or something!
Oh no that's terrible!!! Did you get travel insurance? Because you could get your money back for the trip or postpone til you are healed. Sorry this happened right before the wedding :(
Yeah I'm still coming to terms with it all, but my friends and family have been amazing about it. I suppose that a benefit is I know for damn sure no one will be stressing me out! Hah. And I see the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow, so maybe he'll give me some good news....like being able to have a walking cast or something for the trip to Greece or the wedding. I guess in a way it makes me feel lucky for marrying such a supportive guy and being surrounded by amazing people. Still breaking down every once and a while, but it's getting better.....
And no trip insurance, but may be able to work something out....maybe tomorrow they'll tell me something good! Fingers crossed and I'll update everyone after the appointment...
Oh man - that sucks. I definitely dreamed (nightmared I guess) a few weeks before my wedding that I fell and broke my leg. Definitely not a good dream so I'm sure its even worse in real life. :(
@Eva Peron: And hah attaching a mini camera to the crutches would be a riot!
Oh jeez, I'm sorry to hear that! Is it an consolation that regardless of the outcome with the orthopedic surgeon- the photographer should still be able to get really amazing photos of you w/o crutches or a cast visible. I'm really sorry :(

So a couple days ago I thought I sprained my ankle. So I went into the ER today because it was still hurting, and it turns out I broke my fibula. That means crutches and a cast for my wedding and honeymoon. Part of me just feels so hopeless and inconsoleable. The other part is well, nothing I can do, better just make the best of it.
