I was just whipping up a batch of muffins to add to my "FBIL/FSIL's after baby nourishment kit" when I looked down into my measuring cup and saw this...

...and then I almost crapped my pants! : wedding Ahhhh

Seriously, I think my heart skipped a beat. There was some screaming involved and a very confused fiance but we soon discovered that it was none other than a shredded up blueberry. That's a good thing 'cause I'd been eatin' that batter raw!

MissMaine: I fished it out (FI wouldn't get within 10 feet of it, lol) and saw that it was definitely a blueberry. I even touched it and it turned my finger purple. I don't think I'll share this story with FBIL/FSIL when I give them the muffins, lol.

lol it would have just been a little extra protein in your muffins:p

i love spiders. i never kill them.  i mean unless i see a black widow or something, then yea i'll kill it.  but house spiders don't bug me.  i think they are fascinating creatures and they eat other annoying bugs like mosquitos.

Dear lord that is creepy. If you hadn't told us it was an actual blueberry, I would have bet money on it being a spider. Ahhhh *girly screaming* I'll pass on the muffins, heehe.

    I would have been horrified!!!

I made a batch of blueberry muffins one time from a boxed mix. I pour in the batter, added eggs and milk and started stirring, when I thought I saw the batter moving. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, so I scooped a spoonful out and looked at it more closely

There were maggots wriggling around in the batter. . .

Was it a dry mix? Where were the maggots coming from?

@ktisthatbees: That happened to me recently, I found some in the flour. I definitely gagged, I hadn't actually poured it out yet before I noticed though. Still gross.

And I definitely would have screamed. Problem is, my FI would have screamed louder and we would have had to set the cats on the batter.

@Mrs.ChubbyBunny: it was a dry mix. The cheap brand that comes in a blue box. Guess it had been sitting on the shelf too long?

Either way, I was horrified. Never bought that brand again.

@ktisthatbees: Haha, yeah, my FI isn't scared of much- he's an EMT and he's seen it all- but he is terrified of spiders. As much as I am. Our cats love to chase and eat bugs though. Kind of gross but it's better than me having to deal with them!

Lol!  At first I thought it was a spider and was totally reminded of the episode of Cake Boss where Buddy was asked to make a bug cake!
