I saw that dress on Fox and Friends this morning. It's beautiful but not $500,000 beautiful.
That dress isn't really my speed, I wouldn't buy it for 1/500th of the price.
LOL! That is nuts! Reminds me of those $5-10 million bras that Victoria's Secret comes out with every holiday season. I mean, REALLY!??!?!
It's only expensive because of the jewels and metal. I mean, I can make anything expensive by putting a bunch of diamonds and platinum on it. It doesn't require any sense of design or aesthetics.
Not at all what I was expecting. It's like a *popular* silhouetted dress just adorned with tons of expensive stuff. Meh.
That's absolutely ridiculous. I can think of so many more sensible uses for that amount of money!!!!
Dear David Tutera: There's perfectly good jewelry you could have made with that heap of platinum, diamonds, aquamarines, and pearls. And people would actually buy it. Just saying. Sincerely, Minutiae.
@bruchetta I couldn't agree more!! haha "meh" perfectly describes my reaction to this...
Thats outrageous. No way does that even look like a half a million dollar dress.
does anyone else think it makes the model look a little... big? and if a model looks big imagine how it would make the average woman look.
for that amount of money the dress better turn me into a supermodel :)
It completely hides the model's waist with the ruffle. I don't mind luxury items for those who can afford them, but it seems that they could do better. They could sell a beautiful item instead of a gimmick.
Meh. The dress before the jewelry isn't as nice as some $1,000 dresses I've seen. I was hoping the dress would have been special before the jewels were added, and the platinum chain is kind of lame-looking. He just made an expensive dress to make an expensive dress; nothing about it is particularly great otherwise.
It looks realy cheap, like some people have said, but I honestly don't mind the concept... it could be kinda cool if done well! But not for that price.
It's all the diamonds and other precious gems making it worth that much. You would think that they would have made it a more flattering fit than that and look better for the price though.
bah! I can't believe you would spend so much on a dress! I bet all of ours are way prettier, and mine was definitely A LOT cheaper!
Yeah, that's really boring. I'd much rather have a fashionable silhouette with minimal, classy details.
Looks like it has random chandelier earrings hanging from it. Blech. Ugly.
wait...so David Tutera...the event designer that does that show "My Fair Wedding" is also a bridal gown designer?
Wow. I expected something with rare tiger's fur or something ridulously gaudy. =P I could have make that myself (or have my friend's mom do it, since I've never made a dress) for WAY less than 500k. It's not even pretty - it makes her hips look really wide. Like Angeleri2bee said, I would bet all of our dresses are much prettier and way cheaper. I got mine on sale for about $500 and love it. And it has two or three times as much fabric as that does. It has to be a sin to be throwing away that much money on one day (and not even the whole day - just the dress!) when there are starving babies in the world.
He might as well have wrapped the model in a sheet and hung the jewels from that. The new Mummy Platinum Dress *rolls eyes* I bet some crazy person will buy that heap of crap too.
Wow! I could never imagine spending that much on a dress EVEN if i had the money! It's not even pretty
Yeah, agreed. Ridiculous cost and not even a pretty dress.

Bet you didn't spend $500,000 on it. Seriously. Here is the link to the story, and I don't even think it is that pretty or flattering.

Here is the good news, if you fall in love with a dress a bit out of your budget you can always tell yourself (or whoever is paying for it), at least it isn't half a million dollars!
