Mine is flat. I don’t know that it makes the center stone look bigger?

I have a round in a cushion halo, and the halo is slightly angled downward from the center stone. I think it make for a more attractive profile view.

lac12:  I had this decision too, and I went with an angled halo, and so glad I did! I’ve compared mine to others who have straight halos, and it just doesn’t flow as well (in my opinion). I beleive I asked for a 30 degree tilt.

I agree that angled makes the profile more attractive. Because I don’t love mine from the side. And I tried it on with a loose diamond and I couldn’t really move my hand around much. I actually didn’t even really notice the diamonds on the sides of the halo!

Mine is has a slight angle. I dont think a straight halo would flow well with my ring. But i think it depends on the style of the ring.

25-30% angle so it doesn’t look like a life saver around the stone. 😀

I think it’s all personal preference. I found that most smooth settings I found were bezel settings and I’m not a fan. In the end, we went with an angled and I agree with the others that I think it makes a much nicer profile!

Mine has an airline, rather than an angle.

lac12:  mine is angled, I guess?

Anyway, if the double halo was straight it would probably look odd

I’m having a ring made as well – my jeweler recommended angled so the diamond sits up a bit from the halo – she said that’s the best way to show off the actual diamond itself (not necessarily make it look bigger, just show it better). That’s what I’m doing!

Definitely angled down. Looks nicer and looks like less metal on the profile.
