In my opinion the dresses are true to size, and the material is nice. I would also say that the cornflower blue shows up pretty much the same color on the website as in person.

It seems like the returns process is fairly easy, so you may want to order one to try on/look at, and then buy the rest after you’ve seen the dress(es) in person.

If you have any questions on a particular style, let me know, as I have tried on three of the styles 🙂

Most of my girls already wear Ann Taylor – so they know their size and that’s been true to their other clothes.  I picked the cornflower blue and I think it looks great.  I gave the girls a choice of 2 dresses and realized afterwards they were different fabrics (but same colors).

The construction of the dresses was fine. No complaints yet (of course we got them on sale!)

Ann Taylor is reasonably nice stuff – well made, and good fabrics.  The sizing is true across their selection – so your size in any of their dresses will be your size in their Celebrations line.  The website also seems to me to give good representations of color.  I used to shop their stores all the time, and now live where I have to mail order, but I have really good luck with mail order from them.  And I would second that returns are easy if you get the wrong size.

I ordered a few dresses last week to see them in person (during a free shipping event).  They are well made and true to the normal Ann Taylor sizing.  I returned them to the store without a problem.  I do wish they offered more color variety.

I love my Ann Taylor BM dresses!

1. Do the dresses fit true to size? Or do you find that they generally run a little big or small? – Mostly they run true to size.  It wouldn’t hurt to have them tried on before hand (all dresses are usually available to try on in the store.  Just call ahead an insure they sell Celebrations at the store)  Be sure that if a maid is petite, you get a petite size.

2. How are the materials of the dress? –Great!  Very well made and quality materials.  Nice silks and good stiching.

3. How does the color cornflower blue look in person? I didn’t get this color, myself, but I saw them in person, and they looked really pretty!  Very delicate and unique.

HTH!

You can check on the website to see which stores carry the celebrations line and then you can go see them in person.

Thank you for this post! Besides Ann Taylor & J Crew, what other stores have their own line of wedding-geared dresses? I really like the idea of getting a dress from a store that I trust, and that I can return to!

I ended up going with sale Ann Taylor dresses, but got tons of ideas off of the Nordstrom website. They don’t have a specific line, but they have just about any style of dress you can imagine.  Returns of special-occasion dresses (pending the dresses being new and with tags) are easy.  You’ll get amazing service there, too.

I find that AT dresses run a little on the big side – I wear an 8/10 and I just had to exchange my 8 dress for a 6.  It depends on the cut of the dress – I was a size bigger in the strapless dress than the double v-neck dress.

Did you check their celebrations site to see if there is a store near you that has the dresses for try-on?  You can at least see them in person then.

Ours are the pacific blue and its even prettier in person :).
