I had to consider this myself.  I chose to stop celebrating the day we met (online), and start just celebrating our marriage anniversary.  We were both comfortable with that.  I may still mention the day when it comes around, but no presents.

My fiance and I have been wondering about this recently too, since we just celebrated our engagiversary last week. Our dating anniversary is in September. This year it’s the 5th one and the last one before the wedding next February. We’re planning on celebrating big this coming September anniversary, and then after we get married we probably won’t celebrate it in a grand way but rather at least acknowledge it (going out to dinner or something I guess?), and then just celebrate the wedding anniversary. But we haven’t made a solid decision on that yet though.
