Ok so my Future Mother-In-Law likes to get excited with our wedding stuff, which I am glad but today she posted on FB that we decided a date and she was going to let us tell and tagged us in it…I thought that was what the save the dates were for? Now I just feel like I need to announce it on FB…but if im just going to do that then I feel like it takes away the fun of everyone getting it in the mail…HELP!?!

@LovelyLittleTexasBride: That’s cute! You should be happy someone is so excited for your wedding 🙂 as far as announcing the date, I would say wait until the save the dates go out, that way people who don’t have facebook don’t feel left out of the conversation and fun
If you’re not sending save the dates, either because you don’t have a lot of Out of Town guests or just don’t feel like it, then I think announcing the date should be less formal. Not like making a big deal about it on facebook, just answering if someone asks when it is

I’d definitely keep specific wedding information off of Facebook. You’re bound to get people who aren’t invited asking questions about your wedding or thinking they’re invited. If you feel you must say something now, you can say “We’re having a spring wedding!” (or whatever applies).

I agree with both of you! I just dont know how to reply back to those who have seen it. I wanted to reply back to stay tuned for the save the dates but I dont want to hurt any ones feelings who are expecting one and do not recieve one. I am just not good at this wedding stuff haha
