I’m sorry. That sucks. The same thing ng happened to my friend too. Her date was October 11th 2012. She liked the 10 11 12 thing. Was there anything significant about that date or its just a date you liked?

MrsVC2015:  That sucks! Maybe you should discuss with your SO about starting planning before the ring comes in. You can get engaged without a ring and claim another date now, so this doesn’t happen again.

We ended up booking the venue for our date 3 weeks ago because they were already low on Saturdays for next September, and he still hasn’t formally proposed. We knew we wanted the venue for 9/19 since August, but I told him we’ll book it after he proposes. Well, I didn’t know it would take so long to get a ring. In early October, I called the venue to check on availability, and 9/19 was temporarily reserved for a couple who was coming by to look at the venue. So I temporarily reserved the last Saturday available,  9/26, but if 9/19 became available we wanted to grab the date. Luckily, we got our first choice, but it was a close one!

It might be a good idea to do this depending on where you’re looking. Many places are already filling up for Saturdays next year. The longer you wait, the more likely it will be that you don’t get the exact date you want.

Best of luck!
