@leenh78:  exactly this! Hate office politics x one million. I refuse to give into this shit. I had the open office plan when I got out of college and actually liked it but would hate it now, I just don’t like anyone I work with enough. I am so fed up with coworkers that I’m trying to transfer to a new department that doesn’t have to deal with as many people 🙁

We also moved from full cubicle walls,to half walls and smaller desks. So I am also using my headphones Alot, just to block out all the little noises from my coworkers.

What happens is that there is less collaboration, because people assume I’m wearing headphones in order to be left alone, whereas there are actually to block out background noise!

I also am an introvert and I hate the office politics games. I hate having to broadcast what I accomplished. However, my extraverted colleagues really take no notice unless you talk about it. When I take a day off and people have to cover, they actually get kind of angry because they didn’t notice the 53483434834 things I do all day, to keep things running smoothly. LOL

@leenh78:  He loves it, because now he has an audience! LOL

Any chance management could have a policy about open phone calls and having to take them in a conference room? Maybe an anonymous petition about how it is hard to make other business phone calls while that is going on?

@kerensa:  yes that is another thing I hate. I unfortunately know every single medical ailment of the husband of the lady that sits across the way from me, including what brand of erectile dysfunction medication he uses, because she makes all of his doctors appointments and calls him 10 times a day, every day, to ask what time he walked the dog and what he ate for lunch. People are strange.
