I would wait. The longer you wait, the more accurate it will be.

I’d wait too.  My doctor told me that it should technically be 18 weeks and 3 days (or maybe 4).

I agree with the others. I was in your situation- I went in as soon as the Dr. said I could, even though the lady scheduling U/S tried to talk me into waiting. I wouldn’t hear of it, and they couldn’t get a good enough reading on some parts so I still had to come back a few weeks later anyways.

@mrskisstobe: LOL, you think you have no patience!! At least you have an idea of what it is already… Our baby would NOT show us the goods at our 20 week scan, and we only get one ultrasound (unless there are complications, which thankfully, there aren’t). So our baby’s sex is a complete and total surprise, and I really, really, really, wanted to know. 🙂

I KNOW how difficult it is to wait even a minute longer for this…but truthfully, I think you made the right decision by moving it to 19 weeks.  The anomaly scan is very important, and from what I understand, 17 weeks is just too early for some of the measurements.  I think mine was done at 19w 5d and I had to go back at 20w 5d for a followup (just bc she was stubborn and wouldnt show everything.)

i’d wait too. it’ll be more accurate. plus if they told you what they think it is at 14 weeks, it’s just a guess – that’s really too early to tell.

(however, their 12 week guess for me was right 🙂

    I voted for 19wks.

I went for my anatomy scan at 18wks & had to go back a few weeks later. It was awful! The only thing I could think was that something must be wrong. I cried the whole way home. In the end, it came down to baby being to small to get all of the measurements at 18wks and he wouldn’t cooperate for the tech (she was a bee-otch!). I would go later and try to avoid some of the worrying.

@Tatum: The same thing happened with us. I was 19 weeks and had to come back three weeks later because they weren’t able to get all of the information.
