Don’t be sad!  There are super lovely, budget friendly options out there!  You can have your coup and e-ring too!

Is engagement completely off the table for 3+ years? πŸ™ I mean, if it’s because of how much a ring costs, I don’t think that’s really necessary just because of a car loan. But that’s just me.

I’m sorry you’re feeling down…I would feel down too. *hug*

Yeah there’s no reason you can’t save a little every month! There is a ton of great ring options. Our budget was a little over 1000 and we found a great ring at a great price, my SO saved 200/month for it, you could do a 1500 ring with 100/month savings… still less than 1.5 years! πŸ™‚

Sorry your down πŸ™

Is it just the ring? Would you be okay with a Cubic Z just for a bit? Don’t give up all hope just yet

@Nona99:  Or some rum!

Rum always makes me feel better.

Sorry you are down-hugs! I agree with PP can you rock a less expensive ring and get an upgrade later? And sugar and alcohol are definitely in order! Maybe a nice bubble bath too!

I feel you pain – any money we might be able to save for a ring ends up paying a bill!

We’ve compromised – we’re engaged (no ring just yet but have set the date), and are putting away what little we can when we have it and by the end of the year we should have enough to buy something sparkly πŸ˜€

We personally find that it’s easier to save if we have something set in stone (like the wedding date!).

I”m sorry you’re feeling blue, but like other PP have said, there are budget options out there.  Maybe you guys can work one of those into your budget?  My SO and I just b ought a brand new car in May, and while it may have delayed things a bit (needed a down payment, increased insurance/car payment), it didn’t delay it the whole term of the car loan.  πŸ™‚

I’m sorry you feel that way. But if you lower your budget a bit maybe you don’t have to wait for another 3 years? There are cheaper options out there I’m sure but of course, make sure you are happy with the arrangements. Hope you feel better soon!

I’m so sorry to hear that you are sad….

Is it just the ring that is the problem? πŸ™ My FI can’t afford a ring for a while, and we are planning on having a small wedding anyway so I have some really pretty CZ ring for the time being.

Is that possible? Or does your SO have some major plans for proposal and such?
