I think I'm taking the plunge. It's only for 30 days right? Out of my whole entire life, what's 30 days? I think maybe (maybe) I can do this, or at least try.

But! I see I need a floor mat (is that really necessary??) and little handweights. What wight is best do you think? I don't want to overexert myself by any means. (ANY, haha)

Also! Can you ladies tell me how much weight you lost with this program? I would like to lose upwards 25 lbs by March-April for my first fitting. Do you think that's possible w/ this program? it's only 20 minutes each day right? Thats what sold me, I hate working out for longer than that.

Thank youuuuu, I feel sort of excited.

I never used the floor mat when I did it, but I always did it on carpet.

If you aren't used to using hand weights I'd go for something light, 3 to 5 lbs.

If you are looking to lose weight the 30DS *can* help, but try to remember, about 90% of weight loss is our diet - so watch what you are eating as well.

    Good luck!

I personally don't use a floormat. If you have carpeted floors, that's good enough. My downstairs are hardwoods, so I work out in my bedroom to use the plushy carpet. :)

If you're not used to working out, start low on the handweights - seriously, no more than 3-4lb handweights. You can get them for less than $5 each at Target. Your arms will get SERIOUSLY tired even with that small weight within those thirty minutes, trust me. I don't have much upper body strength, but I can bench press quite a bit, and I was still jello after using 3 lbs. I've noticed it'a  bit too easy now, and I could move up to 4. Start slow with the weights.

I have lost a total of about 10 lbs, with the Shred and diet. I don't do any other form of exercise either, and I'm pretty bad about actually doing it five days a week. More than the weight loss, I can just tell an overall toning happening, which is what I wanted more than weight loss.

Good luck and happy shredding!! :)

I'd start with 3 lbs in each hand if you're not used to the workouts. If you are on carpet then you don't need a mat. You only need it for the crunches if you're on a hard surface, and you can use a folded towel if you don't want to buy a mat.

I wasn't able to do it for 30 days. I was really sore and just couldn't keep going. Later I heard (either read it or heard it on Jillian's radio show) that Jillian doesn't really recommend just doing this workout every day for 30 days. I don't think this video alone will make anyone lose weight. It is working out in general, getting your cardio in, and watching what you eat.

I really like level 1 workout and I have integrated it into my regular workouts, but I wasn't a huge fan of level 2 (way too much time spent in plank and going from the floor to standing and back again). I liked level 3 better than level 2, but less than level 1. Overall I would still recommend it, but I'd say you should mix it up with other stuff, especially cardio if you want to lose weight.

So the workout if 30 minutes long? Do you need alot of room to move around? I'm limited on space in my tiny windowless apartment.

You have to be able to do jumping jacks, etc. You don't need a ton of room, but some. And they're about 20-30 minutes long, including her talking before and the warm up and cool down.

I use 3 pounders, and you couldn't pay me to go higher!  I have carpet so I don't use a mat.  Good luck, the work out is great!

I've been doing it off and on for about 3 weeks but every day this last week and have lost 4 pounds. I use 3lb weights and the floor mat because my floor is tile. I could probably do the crunches on the tile but my knees hurt for the pushups even with the mat. Good luck! I do combine it with other workouts (cardio) everyother day.
